How many Military & Police actually carry the M&P?

Australia, too

My Victoria Police 3" Model 10 (an M&P except in name) trade-in arrived in the plain brown box from the new M&P that replaced it (or one of it's mates)

i wonder what the percentages are now, i'm seeing more and more footage of police bodycam using m&p 2.0s

i think percentages now is like 40% glock, 60% m&p

I prefer my M&P 2.0's in 9mm and 45ACP to my Glock Gen 5 17 and Gem 4 21. Would love to get a M&P 10mm once I find some reloading components for it.

One of my favorite shops has been a revolving door for cadets in the Denver PD current academy all buying 9mm M&Ps-most with the red dot plate. I believe Colorado State Patrol has moved from .40 to 9 M&Ps. Lots of M&Ps being carried by the many departments in the Denver metro area.

My agency had a list we could choose from. I carried my S&W M&P 45 ACP from 2008 until I retired in 2019. A great sidearm.

Yes, Victoria and South Australia Police Forces both use M&P's. The rest of the States in Australia use Glocks.

(We only have State Police and Federal Police in Australia).

When I retired in '97 my issued weapon was the Glock 23. Later I purchased the M&P 2.0 Compact in 9MM and never looked back. Two weeks ago I shot a 96% w/the M&P at LEOSA quals. IMHO S&W has a superior product.

Agreed. I spent a lot of years carrying issued SIG Sauer P220's, and ended my career with an issued Gen 5 Glock 17. Now that I'm free to carry whatever I want to, I carry Smith & Wesson.

Didn't see a mention of the Califorrnia Highway Patrol moving to the M&P in 40 caliber years ago. The security company I used to work for issued the M&P 40 for years. They changed to the FN 509 but mostly to change calibers. I never really liked the M&P but love my Shield 2 and Shield +.

Not sure if it's been mentioned before....but I'll add Austin, Texas PD and the Kenner, La PD (suburb of New Orleans) to the list of those issued M&P's

I never did care what the military or the LE carried . Most times what is issued is price driven . Some departments allow officer to pick from a list they buy it as department cost and after qualifying its there duty carry too . I carry a lw commander in 45acp or a m&p full size 40sw

From the figures quoted by the gun reps visiting our store, it's 65% Glock, & 35% everything else. Our county LE uses Glock 22 for road patrol, & Glock 23 for detectives. GARY.

Yeah, hard pass on M&P line. I don't always carry a gun but when I do, I'd rather it weren't wearing a tampon.

What's next - Depends at 200k rounds?
