I have always preferred my left side. Whether in pocket or
sheath. My thinking is that my gun is on my right side. If I
happen to be in a struggle, trying to keep the perp from getting
my gun, I should access my knife with the left hand. I'm sure
you will tell me why I am wrong.

I carry mine in my right back pocket. There is always one there and it's about 3" long and flat. Works for me

Not in any pocket, too visible to prying eyes. Inside my pants behind the belt that hides the clip. I think it´s the best way.

I always carry a three blade folder in my right front pocket. I hate knives with pocket clips. They can-have-and will be pulled out and lost in time.

BTW I'd just as soon leave my under wear off as get dressed and go without my pocket knife...........Ben carrying one since I was about 8 years old.......I wasn't raised on asphalt and concrete.

left front pocket. right front pocket is reserved for Alabama or Vedder kydex pocket holster with a small .380 of various manufacturer.
also carry spare vehicle keys in left pocket [saved me more than once] and a leatherman micra and stainless pill container full of aspirin. i'm ready.

If carrying a folder, it's a 3 inch or less flipper in my left pocket. Right pocket is for the almost always present LCP. Frankly, more often than not these days, I am carrying a neck knife, usually an ESEE Izula in S35VN steel.

In the field, I'll often carry a larger fixed blade on my left side, so as not to get in the way of the holstered weapon that will be on my right hip.

Phil - Not a bad strategy at all. More than a few cops lives have been saved by being able to access a knife with their weak hand while struggling to retain their gun with their strong hand.

The NRA gives me a new pocket-clip knife every year when I pay my dues. It stays clipped to my right rear pocket. I whip it out multiple times per day to help with various chores.
Someone said pocket-clipped knives get lost. The only things that steal mine are the crocheted afghans my wife puts on our couch. If I lay down for a nap I can count on my knife being among the covers when I get up. Otherwise I have two extras for when the current one gets lost for good.

As a general rule I routinely wear a vest. First, because I like to wear vests, dressy vests, casual vests, western vests, lightweight, heavyweight, they change with the seasons and my mood or where I am headed. A Swiss army knife is always in the left pocket and "tactical" knife in the right hand pocket (I hate the term "tactical" but I am so used to hearing it I can't remember another term.) On the very rare occasion that I do not a vest on then the knives find places in pants pockets.

The funny thing is that as a rule I pocket carry my guns so when some jerk asks me if I have a gun I laugh and open the vest - these idiots have no clue. :D

But I admit that sometimes I do belt carry and hide guns under shirts and, obviously, vests. It's just not typical.
