But it's kept me from going insane

Here I am again looking at these darn M&P Shields
I have had a Shield 2.0 7/8 rounder for 17 months now since my twin brother passed away & was with him when he bought it & suggested it to him as we were looking for the perfect concealed carry handgun
In the last year & a half I have kept buying different handguns, bigger, smaller, thinner, lighter, optic ready
Glock 43X, Springfield Hellcat OSP, SIG P365XL, Glock 19X, SIG P320-X-Carry, S&W SD9 FDE, Hk P2000sk 40, Hk USP Compact x2, Ruger SP101, Taurus 85CH & an AR-15/M4

I have started thinning the heard & sold two of my Hk USP Compacts & a SIG P320 within the last few weeks

Just recently picked up the Springfield Hellcat & SIG P365XL which both have SIG Romeo Zero red dot sights installed

Yesterday I am at the Day Care Center aka Gun Store ECC
They have an "As New" Used M&P Shield Plus Performance Center with fiber optic sights & manual safety 3.1"
It feels very good to my hands & just want it...

I rode back over there this afternoon & was in a hurry & forgot my Wallet & Cell Phone + Carry Pistol

They might be interested in buying a few more pistols & revolvers in my for-sale bag which I did take with me

Anyhow I looked at that Shield + PC again & it was like WOW!
This "MIGHT BE" the Perfect Carry Pistol

It does have the ported barrel & slide & the price is OK as it's USED & two magazines + cardboard box as usual, chamber flag
I have four holsters for the Shield 2.0 too :D

I might just need some therapy
It has something to do with the passing of my twin brother I am sure...

Have been selling some pistols just to get the funds back from overspending the last year & a half but it seems every time I sell one, I buy another...

Thinking about selling my Hk P2000sk 40 & Ruger SP101 but want to keep my S&W SD9 & Glock 19X even though they will never be carried because of their size
Just got the Hellcat & SIG P365XL & just love my Glock 43X & my Brother's Shield 2.0

It must be a mental problem, trying to somehow replace his loss with the purchase of a firearm, you know that warm fuzzy feeling you get when a deal goes right & you are happy :D

I looked & these are going from $400+ for a used one up to $550 for a new one with $50 rebate from S&W + some come with four magazines & a medical bag + range case etc.

BTW the 1st Shield my brother bought in September 2019 was a 2.0 9mm with safety & cost $249.99 OTD

Could a as new Shield Plus PC be worth $475???
They should at least give you a little carry case with these darn things

Here's something, the Shield Plus was 1st Offered 3/16/21 the day my brother had his heart attack & died as we had talked about it that morning when S&W sent an e-mail to me about them...
Could that be the therapy I have been looking for, a Shield + PC
I can still truthfully fill out a 4473 as I always have

Maybe the Fraternal Twins is what I need 2.0 & PC+

My condolences for the loss of your Brother. You have a nice assortment suitable for cc and the memories you made with your Brother. Just get the other shield.

Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution

Crazy YES Insane NO

WAYLON JENNINGS always ROCKED

I still think a Shield + PC may be in my future
Glad I forgot my wallet today
Gave me time to reflect
My Youngest Son's 31st Birthday is next Friday the 26th & I have bought him a 2013 Fender Jazzmaster & owe $5 on it at the music store :D
Going to take him there next Friday with a $5 bill & the receipt that's in my safe
If you look at Waylon's Telecaster you will note a Banjo tuner on the Low E String that points backwards
I always remember him narrating the Dukes of Hazzard when I was a young lad...
My Daddy's favorite tape was Waylon & Willie an 8-Track

Going to go to ECC the Gun Store tomorrow alone & might just walk out with that Shield Plus PC Model or a SIG P365 NRA Model
I will check back in tomorrow :)

my condolences for the loss of your twin brother. i'm a twin and cannot contemplate what life would be without him. there's a bond unlike any other.

You are right @oldiegoldie
My first memories as a small child were with my brother Jerry & it seemed like part of me died when he passed away, He called out for HELP & I came running & he didn't say much more other than MY HEART, he clutched it & died right in my arms, EMTs got here in 3 minutes but it was too late, He was gone forever...
He had a stroke in 2017 IIRC & lost his home on 12/27/19 & came to live with me in my basement apartment with his dog until 3/16/21
When the medics got here & started working on him, I look over at his bed & there lays than M&P Shield 2.0, I grabbed it up & stuck it in my pants as I assumed police were coming too...
Don't know why it was out & will never know
There's just something about that handgun, I don't know what it is
Maybe getting a 2nd Shield will make it right in my head
The Lone Fraternal Twin, Gary...,

Wellin the past 3-4 weeks I have sold three Heckler & Kochs, a Ruger & a SIG, BUT bought a Springfield Hellcat OSP & SIG P365XL Optics ready with Romeo Zero RDS + another for the Hellcat & yesterday picked up that Performance Center M&P Shield Plus Ported, it looked very new & was made 6/21/21 & has had maybe 150-200 rounds through it so far...
I got the HUGE cardboard box with the cleaning kit within + extra 10 round flush fit magazine, cable lock + manual & paperwork

The 13-round magazines sleeve or floorplate has been cut or cracked at its base toward the front of the pistol, could have been from someone trying to take it apart, which I also did + cleaned them out & the followers...

Another issue was the recoil spring seems to be coming apart from within, I know what one should look like as I have the 1st Shield 2.0 to compare & they are the same unit BTW, I called S&W this morning & their customer service representative has a new one coming my way next week

It also had the locking block's roll pin coming out that's under the take down lever, so I used the roll pin punch & centered it up + the big pin in the trigger shoe was out to the left about 1.5mm so I centered it up with a block & brass punch...

The rear sight was off to the right about a 1/4" hanging over the edge so i loosened the set screw which was metric BTW 1.5mm & tapped it back to the center with a brass punch & elf hammer, it has the HI-VIZ fiber optic sights Red in the Rear & Green in the Front...

The only damage I can see so far is that there are two small scratches in the paint/polymer that's on the frame around that roll pin where I assume someone tried to reseat the pin & slipped because of not having the right tool to center it up right

I picked up a 2nd 13 round magazine today at the LGS for $39 & glued the polymer sleeve back together on the old one with CA Glue & put a hair beret around it & put it away in the new magazine's container, will look later when I go down to the man cave to see how that went, Only one drop of CA #10 glue was used that sets in 10 seconds so I worked quick & already had the band in place to hold it, I can't trust it so it's put away...

So, it seems the USED, NEW Looking Shield + PC has been in someone's else's hands before

While at the gun store, I installed an extended magazine release in a guy there's HK USP 45 in two minutes, because I had the right tools with me, been there & done that before many times
Takes a 2.4mm punch

Range Report Due on the Performance Center Shield Plus
I bet I will have to move the front sight to the left a bit to get it centered up on paper being the rear was off to the right so far

Hey at least the magazines are now available for the Shield Plus's, last year at this time there were guys selling extra magazines for $300+ on GunBroker...

Stay Safe out there & more BETTER Photos to come of the Fraternal Twins :D

Here's my Favorite Shield Holster = Crossbreed
& the results of CA Gluing the floor plate spacer on the PC+

Need to research IF this magazine is even supposed to be serviceable = made to be taken apart
I will also note you didn't have to pull the trigger to get the slide off on the PC Plus & it didn't have the little yellow lever inside to remove without pulling the trigger like the older 2.0 Shield

Sorry for your loss. I pray for a healing heart for you and your family. God Speed.

The Slide of the 2.0 is an exact match and interchangeable with the Plus. For obvious reasons the frame is a bit different. That being said the Plus is not an exact fit with my "We the People" Holster designed for the Shield 9 M2.0. The holster rubs up against the mag release of the Shield Plus and I am not comfortable carrying the Plus in the 2.0 WTP holster. I called WTP and they indeed confirmed that the holster has been redesigned.
I really think that the Shield Plus is the perfect concealed carry for me.
I'm trying to find a good pocket holster and a good leather OWB holster as well. I may end up giving my old Shield 2.0 to my sister.

Healing takes time regardless if it is the body or the heart.
Phi 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
God Speed.

Have a look at how the trigger is on this Crossbreed Holster
You can see the curved hinged trigger is quite different & placed than the flat dingus trigger
I really like the flat faced trigger, fiber optic sights & ported barrel the PC Shield Plus has + the 10/13 round magazines compared to the 7/8 in the original Shield design

The Shield 2.0 won't fit in a 1.0 holster?
Yes, The Shield and the Shield 2.0 will fit in the same holsters, they are identical in size and shape.
The Shield Plus has a longer protruding mag release and the frame is .15" wider. So, if you have a holster that can be adjusted to accommodate the different frame size and does not interfere with the mag release then you are good to go.

The slides interchange for sure as I just tried it...
Didn't fire them though
The center magazine = the original 13-round that came with the PC+ had its spacer split, so I put a hair beret around it & CA Glued it with #30 thick & cleaned up any excess with a Q-Tip soaked in acetone = fair repair that should hold up nicely....
The LH recoil spring is the one I am having SAW replace for me it just doesn't look tight up around the collar like the other one, I will note the 2.0s has a red smaller spring were as the PC+s is silver
I will also note the striker safety plunger on the PC+ is either an Apex or they redesigned it to have the rounded top like we used to do to Glocks 25 years ago
Will compare the strikers next = tomorrow morning sometime

My youngest sons Vacation starts @ 8:00am Sunday Morning Tomorrow & his 31st Birthday is this Friday
I have the 2013 Fender Jazzmaster coming for him, he is going to Ohio Wednesday for a Wrestling Match & will have it here for him when He gets back on Friday Morning early...
Both the frames appear to use the same trigger bar too as I would have assumed it would be different because of the magazines diameter but that appears to be only at the bottom part of the magazines
They both have the yellow bypass lever for removing the slide without pulling the trigger too

I know were a 40 S&W Shield is for $350, Its a 1.0 BTW
Seems a little too expensive being the 2.0 cost $249
Inflation I guess... :(
I have ammo in 40 worth more than $400 in today's market & sold my last three 40 S&W handguns within the last few weeks

Stay Safe & Always Carry When You Can = Always! :D
