I too had a beautiful, never fired 27-2/Full Target, and they are indeed magnificent revolvers! I sold mine a year ago or so- along with a just as perfect 14-2 to the same buyer.
"Bookmatched" means cut from the same piece of wood- so it appears identical on either side. In musical instruments, they actually do split a piece of wood on a bandsaw- and then fold the set open- like a book, so both sides appear to be mirror images of the other side.
