Sorry to brag again, but 16-year old granddaughter Raegan just now got off the mountain after shooting a nice little two-point buck with one shot...and she dropped it using my old .243. Her first phone call when she got back to the truck with her dad was to her grandpa.:D

This isn't Raegan's first buck. She dropped this four-point a couple years ago. Believe me, it's tough when the grandkids are continually showing up their old grandpa.:D

Outstanding! I can see why you're so proud.

Hunting and fishing are great family traditions. Reagan reminds me of Rebecca, the daughter of a family friend and fellow deer hunter. She loved to come up to camp and sit in the blind with her dad when she about 6-7 years old. When one of the guys asked what she'd do with a deer if she got one, she looked at him funny and said we'll cut the legs off and eat it! Duh??? :D

Now remember as she starts dating, the first thing you ask the young man is "What's your opinion on hunting"?? Followed up quickly, If he answers "Why yes sir", then ask what caliber rifle he uses.

If he says "No Sir", you reply, "You have no business then with my granddaughter"!!

Looking good.

A nice rifle, a Harris bi-pod, good scope (gold ring) and young lady that
likes to go hunting.

Looks like the deer in your area have another problem to look out for.

Congratulations on filling that deer tag and may all of the meat be enjoyed.

I did not draw this year and will miss my salami.

My she be lucky in the future for maybe a speed goat of even
a HUGE elk, tag, to widen her hunting skills.

This reminds me of one of my girl cousins when she was little. She used to go out hunting with her dad. The story goes that one day some other child was giving my cousin some grief about harvesting deer, and my little cousin came back with, "Don't worry, God will make more."

PS: She's listed in my Will to get one of my .45s.

Awesome !
I am grading those deer as a 4 and an 8 point however ?

Out West, with primarily mule deer, we only count the points on one side. Somehow, the little eastern white tails get points on both sides added: makes them seem larger 😊

However you count, that's a nice buck!

I'm not a hunter cuz I don't like game and I have no need to kill something I'm not gonna eat.
That being said, nothing but respect for those that hunt and do it right. Yes, hunting is in fact conservation.

Great thread Mule Packer!
