They have made a world of progress in eye surgery in the past ten years.

If it has got to the point they can do surgery on it, you will be amazed at the results shortly after. Mom just had one removed and for the first time in decades, she can see fine with no glasses at 74 y/o. Better vision now, then when she wore glasses.

Between the Versed IV drip and the spectacular light show I would pay to take that ride again.

Rusty, is Versed a common drug used for Cataract surgery?
I've heard my eldest talk about using Versed in the ER and that sounds like some spooky stuff.
My baby brother is an eye Doc' and I'll have to ask him about that. At 74 I can only presume that my day is coming for the surgery as he claims Cataracts are (almost) inevitable.

My cataract surgeries were over a year ago and I can not sing the praises of Midazolam loud enough. The actual Versed brand name has been discontinued.

This is some serious top-shelf La La Land juice.

I had my left eye done two weeks ago, and my right eye is being done tomorrow. The happy juice works pretty good, but I was very much aware of everything going on, I was just not as anxious about the doc being on my eyeball. I do remember being aggravated with how bossy the doctor was when telling me where to look. I almost told him to F off, but figured he held all the cards at the moment…

He also put in an intraocular lens, so I've got corrected vision in one eye right now. Looking forward to having the right one done tomorrow to balance things out. Will now need readers, but distance will be corrected.

My wife came with me to the surgery to drive me home. She's been suffering with periodic neurological episodes that the doctors can't figure out. Well, by the time I got out of surgery she was not feeling well at all, and couldn't drive! I was feeling pretty darn alert, so I drove us home.

Upper 70's. Just had my yearly eye doctor checkup. He also does the surgeries. He says almost everyone past 70 has cataracts and few need the surgery. Apparently, according to him I don"t.
