Rattlesnake I.D.?

I know for a fact that they are also know to be in the Red Bluff, Calif, area
in the higher elevations that have lots of trees and shade, with a small lake near by
and a covered wooden box, that holds a on/off water line, turning devise, that has nice soft ground, to sleep in.

That will get your heart going , when opened !!
 
There are two types of rattlesnakes here in Ohio. The Eastern Massasauga and the Timber Rattler (the most venomous snake in the US). Both are on the Endangered Species List.

In the 56 years that I have lived here I have never seen either one in the wild.
