I was entering our local Walmart today, (yep I'm a deplorable,) and was totally blown away with all the boisterous loud noise /antics from a punk butt strutting kid. He was all most "tweeking" but maybe he was? Doesn't matter it's Oregon. He was rubbing his exposed side arm, taking his time and was being obnoxiously loud.

Looked like he had a full size 1911 type pistol but it wasn't cocked and locked. He had it in a OWB holster and obviously meant to be seen.

I hope that this is just a an anomaly and not a normal trend. Peacock "kids" with firearms is not a good thing. My first thought was to just beat him with it but that could be a bad thing.

I remember it used to be common in OC threads to talk about how likely the OCer was to have their pistol taken and used against them. Just didn't know the call was coming from inside the house.

If you ever wind up in metro Atlanta I have some friends, both in their seventies, you might enjoy hanging out with. Rocky and Lloyd used spray foam to fill exhaust and intake systems on trespasser's four wheelers and a battery powered impact wrench to remove the lug nuts from a golf cart.

Opposite end of the OC spectrum...in our small NM town, the Post Office is where everyone goes, as rural mail delivery mostly doesn't exist. There's a slow, painfully moving octogenarian who comes in most days at the same time OCing a small chrome something or other in an ancient holster worn brown and fuzzy. He can't hear well, and it takes him a few minutes to find his PO box key, and nearly as long to actually get it inserted into the lock. He then carries his mail to a shelf, sorts it very slowly with both hands while his back is to the foot traffic behind him; if someone greets him, it takes him time to look around to see where and who they are.

Just because you CAN do something doesn't make it a good idea.

4T5Guy,
You are not alone.

Arizona has its fair share of 20 somethings with open carry. They tend to be thin build sloppy dressed with pants sagging and do strut like John Wayne.

These kids are a walking timebomb.

Almost every day or two the local news has a young person who got upset with something or someone and the shooting begins.

I better stop while I am still ahead before I say what I really think.

Isn't there the small matter of it being a federal offense to carry in a post office?

It comes it fits and bursts here. I was getting a windshield chip fixed at a Safelite and it seemed like every other customer met the above description except we have a greater age spread for these types, 20-50. Couple of other older gents were in the waiting area and I noted that they were also paying attention to this dumb parade. After the third guy left I quipped, "Wish somebody had told it was Open Carry Day, I'd have dug out my Enfield revolver", which with my accent is entirely appropriate. I thought the one chap waiting was going to lose his teeth laughing.

If I ever decide to open carry my Russian Nagant revolver I'll have to imitate Boris Badinov.
