So the Second Amendment should be changed to only protect the people you see fit?

Would you be okay to give up your Second Amendment rights and guns if a group of people didn't like the way you looked?

boisterous loud noise /antics from a punk butt strutting kid.

He was rubbing his exposed side arm, taking his time and was being obnoxiously loud.

Jim

I have been seeing this sort of thing here as well. While I am definitely a supporter of the 2nd, and have carried myself since I was 21 long ago, I am disturbed by this trend. Something being legal does not make it smart- that kid you saw is a major part of the reason the "public" is so fearful of legal carry. I have no problem with open carry when done properly, though it's not for me, but when someone dresses and behaves in a sloppy manner while carrying, it creates fear. That is not helpful in any way.

In my view, any person carrying a firearm should be representative of the best of us- calm, polite, and professional at all times.

You have Second Amendment advocates then the nuts (as described in the initial post) that may loosely claim to be Second Amendment supporters. They don't do any favors for true advocates and may do a good deal of harm to a legitimate cause.

It's true we shouldn't be critical of others because of appearance, smell, or poor judgement. Let's just hope they're not carrying an exposed firearm as they enjoy a way of living life in their own way.

There are 2 walmarts within 30 miles. The supercenter in the big city (bout 4000 pop) keeps me out by being self check out only, which i don't abide by. The one in the small city is aged friendly with helpful staff, and have never seen too many out of bonds type characters. If i saw a character like the op describes, avoidance would be a priority, unless he became an imminent personal threat.

And while i shop at walmart, am not a deplorable. i am an adorable deplorable.

Wal Mart has a no open carry policy. They should have shown him the door.

It's not exactly a policy. More of a request.

My local Walmart only has women in PJ's, fuzzy slippers, and hair curlers at lunchtime. I prefer being a little behind the times!

Ivan

The Walmart across the river (Allegheny) from me closed right before Thanksgiving. The corporate reason was something like "sales number$" below acceptable levels. Well, there's a bus stop at both ends of the store and several others in the shopping plaza, which is very popular and pretty good-sized. My better half works over there but a different name of plaza, and from what everyone isn't saying (media) is the shoplifting that's totally outta control. I've mentioned this news on here before. It's sad for the lower income people that really need buses to get around and need an inexpensive place to shop, but it's also the same people robbing the place blind. When you're too lazy to put some normal clothes on, I KNOW you're too lazy to get a job. Disgusting overweight folks in pajamas & slippers and "messy" stains in places they can't see in the mirror. They quit selling gun stuff there back in 2020 so I go to the Dunhams for ammo; I'm not ever gonna miss that Walmart. There are others farther away from the city with a totally different customer base, and there are a couple Targets that seem pretty civilized, all a few miles out of Pittsburgh.
Shame, shame, shame! G. Pyle

Geeze why does any one still shop at Walmart?

Well I really like the cost savings compared to the limited other options. I, (we,) can save over $50.00 a month, not much but a victory. Plus it's so cool seeing all those giant calf tattoos.

I'm glad most got what my concern was. I remember my first beer AND my first Colt .45acp. I wasn't old enough for either but I never thought it was something EVERYONE needed to know.

I was judging this punk but not because of his looks/clothing or antics . It was the total disregard of the privilege of open carry. Like others I don't unless I'm out in the woods but I can and do carry concealed.
