LOLTo answer a response above, I think the bug out concept is one designed for conversation because there is no doubt that bugging out when everyone else is will leave you out of gas, stuck on a highway far from home. And where are we bugging out, to, anyway? Are you Special Agent Gibbs with a remote cabin in the woods somewhere?
If the proverbial fecal matter hits the swirling blades being hunkered down in your own dwelling, well stocked with food, water, weapons, ammunition, medical supplies (for YOUR special needs, if any, plus just normal stuff) and a place to use for "waste matter", is likely your best bet.
YMMV
Sadly, that makes it difficult for folks who live in apartments, condominiums, etc., but that's life in America..........
I have no plans to bug out. I'd rather die at home.

My milage does vary......while I'm Ok to "Bug in" in my "Burb of the Burgh'' if I can get out early [or after the rush/die off] and get to the Laurel Highlands I'll be even better off in the long run.
