I wish they could give the meat to charity. Does not sound feasible, so let the other wild critters get the benefit.
Most states prohibit using roadkill or wild game for food to charities.
They should start poutting a bounty on deer, without natural predators to keep them in stock they are single handedly destroying the natural food order with their relentless foraging. In areas of the country where there used to be 10 deer per square mile there are now 40 or 50.
Thin them out, process the meat and give it to the needy.

Don't need to land for a helicopter to retrieve a load. I've seen loggers use choppers to sling logs out of remote wilderness.

Under 36 CFR 261.18, the following are prohibited in a Wilderness:
• Possessing or using a motor vehicle, motorboat or motorized equipment except as authorized by Federal Law or regulation.
• Possessing or using a hang glider or bicycle.
• Landing of aircraft, or dropping or picking up of any material, supplies, or person by means of aircraft, including a helicopter.

Following up. The forest managers did this exact same cow management program last year. 65 animals were killed, and the contract called for carcasses to be removed from streams and trails.

They generally send in Forest Service personnel with horses, ropes, and come-a-longs to pull carcasses out of waterways and off trails. There are plenty of cougars, bears, and birds to clean up what remains.
If they leave the carcasses for wildlife to eat I bet they require solid copper bullets be used.

They are using ships with powerful SONAR to slaughter dolphins, whales, and who knows what else off the coast of NJ to map the sea bed for an offshore wind farm project. Odd that the eco crowd is worried about some cattle but not about whales. So far they say they don't know what is killing the marine mammals but the killing oddly follows the paths that the survey ships are taking.
The picture I can't get out of my head is Clifton James and Harry Dean Stanton flying low over cattle country in a helicopter:

I was in Hawaii a few years back bored outta my mind with the tourist ****. Ended up on a zip line somewhere near Hilo.
Talking with the locals about what there was to hunt besides the wild goats and they told me about the wild cows they had there. Looked into a guided hunt in case I was forced to make another trip there.
Pretty interesting story behind them and Hawaiian wild cows pose a realistic threat to you if you are in close quarters with them as well.
