Welcome to the forum from the Carolina Upstate. I left Ohio because of February.
I cannot comment on the red dots. I am still using iron sights. I think red dots make pistols look ugly. Same reason I do not like Glocks and warthogs.

Hello folks, I'm a long time lurker of this S&W Forum.
Figured I might as well join, since I enjoy the banter among the members and get a lot of information from you guys.

Welcome from Vermont. This place is contagious so be warned. I to used iron sights for duty and 10's of thousands of rounds PPC. You could transition to a red dot easily I believe. I finally put one on my Benelli as I just couldn't wing shoot the shotgun the "proper" way because of so much "front sight, front sight, front sight" over the years. It has helped, but on a rifle or handgun it should be easy. Not a big deal if you focus on the dot, but you don't have to. Work on keeping both eyes open instead.

Welcome from the mountains of Big Sky Country!

To your question...
I have a question.

You said you're getting an EZ for your wife.
So, what does she think about a red dot?

I doesn't matter what you think, if it's for her.
It matters what she thinks.

I like red dots a lot, and for myriad reasons.
My wife prefers a laser on her pistols.
So her pistols have lasers.

Thoughts?

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome!

I haven’t been back on this sight in a bit, been super busy with life. HOWEVER, I’ve since sold my Glock, purchased the EZ 9mm as my new carry, and decided against a red dot on my pistol. I also purchased a Kel Tec Sub200Gen2, (did all the Mcarbo upgrades and put a red dot on that), and I just purchased a M&P 15 sport 2, 5.56 rifle, a 3x prism scope, and a new drop in hand guard, I could pass up the deal, $539. (Just the rifle with irons), After rebate with free shipping and a discount from Brownells! Having said all that, I’m looking for a .22 for the wife. She’s a tiny woman, she had her first firearms safety & tactical tracing the other day, and she’s most comfortable shooting .22’s! So I figure it’s better than carrying nothing! I also inherited my dads .380 Colt Mustang, when he passed away 2 years ago, so I have another small carry and I can possibly ease her into shooting it, just maybe!
