I sometimes have a difficult time, trying to decide which guns to bring to the range. I started thinking about LE guns. It turns out I have 4, which is the perfect number for my pistol case.
Top to bottom:
M66 ND, marked CPD
M10-8, re-import, from France, I think
M18-3, Colorado State Patrol
Colt 3 5 7, that belonged to my wife's dad, when he volunteered with New Mexico Mounted Patrol.

I didn't shoot as well as I would have liked, but I was still able to get some impressions on the guns. All shots were DA, one hand, at 25 yards.
The Colt trigger is smooth, but, wow, does it stack.
The 66 has the best trigger of the lot. I could shoot .357 158 grain JSP's out of this gun all day.
The 18-2 is a lot of fun, but could use a reaming, as I had to brush out the chambers a few times during the session. It shot better groups with CCI 710 and 835 FPS than it did with Standard velocity.
The 10-8 has Trausch grips, which seem to fit a variety of hands quite well.

With the trausch grips it's most likely French… Do you know which department it came from?

I don't know which agency. I bought 2 of theses from Bud's a few years ago. They were advertised as French Police guns, if I recall correctly, but nothing more specific.

A friend has an M28 (no dash)* marked MC 14.
Found in Mississippi.
Any ideas?
I am guessing one of the several counties starting with an M.

*We need a more concise designation than "no dash".
How about M28-0?
No worse than "pre-28" for an older Highway Patrolman. .

Nice revolvers.

That beautiful pile of swept brass is also fantastic to behold.

Thanks for the replies!
I love this range. It's 10 minutes from the house and attached to my favorite LGS. The range sees a lot of use. Regardless of political persuasion, a lot of folks exercise their 2A, around here. Lots of ranchers, hunters, fishermen, and outdoorsy folk in general, and even my liberal friends love to shoot.
