Figured I'd ask you fine folks here in the about this, didn't think it fell elsewhere…

I have, a TSSI Tacops M-9 Assault Medical Pack, a gift from a friend who's former military. I love it, I love how compact it is, and how much I can stuff into it, but mostly how durable it is. It was field used before it was passed to me, and I've dragged it daily for years as my everyday bag, to work, to grad school, to job sites all over the country, filled or adorned with tools, laptop, iPad, paperwork, site PPE gear, pens, pencils, sharpies, phone chargers, etc, and it's just keeps going with minimal wear. It also fits neatly under the seat of most planes, so I can easily carry it on, sometimes with no extra fees.

Recently, I've upgraded my laptop, and it does not fit into my M-9 pack. Because that is an essential pack of my daily kit, I've been on the search for a comparable quality Molle Bag with a bit more space. I tried the root of picking something up at the local Army Surplus store, but the quality isn't there. The bag I tried swapping over to has had every zipper break on every pocket within the last few months, so it nothing stays securely closed. I can get them to zip shut sometimes, other time they pop back open.

That said, looking for recommendations on a bag, I like the Molle style bags, because in addition to storing stuff inside, I often snap on other tool pouches or hang items like hard hats, or radios on the outside, so I'd like to stick with that style of bag, just something bigger than the M-9, but similar in quality.

Thanks for any help!

I would take a look at the "Maxpedition" line of packs. They make a variety of pack styles. I have one of their sling packs, a belt pack, and several Molle attachment pouches. The quality is there, and mine have held up quite well.

Thanks for the suggestion Larry, I took a look, I like the styling, now trying to discern if any of their options will be big enough. The Falcon III caught my eye, that might be a good option, I just worry their bags run a little too narrow for sliding my laptop in (it's a big laptop).

I see there is an M-10 pack available. Or is that too big?

You know, initially, it appeared the M10 was around the same size as the M9 pack just with different compartment layouts, but it does look quite a bit bigger than I thought in their pictures. It's an option, though tbh, I was hoping to spend a little less, still a consideration though, I love TSSI's products.

Not cheap but look at Eberlestock.
The Bandit has been in my vehicle for years and fits under an airline seat.
All kinds of sizes available.

Eberlestock popped up while looking at Maxpedition on Amazon, they may be a contender. Thanks for the suggestion.

5.11 advertises all sorts of backpacks and stuff. You might look at them. Never used one, so can't discuss quality, although there other products are very good.

These guys also popped up while searching, definitely a consideration as well, thanks!
