Burger King Ketchup

I like vinegar on my fries.:D

When I go to Penn Station I get a cup of fries and douse them in malt vinegar.
That's kinda an English thing, isn't it?

I remember when I was a kid there was a HUGE nation-wide seafood chain called Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips. Very English, and in fact they claimed their recipes were imported directly from an English pub. They served malt vinegar with their fish & chips (a.k.a. fries).

From what I'm seeing they are down to no more than a handful of locations still open, but they are trying to expand as a "virtual" fast food place where you can only order through food delivery apps like Grub Hub, Uber Eats, etc.

I didn't know that there were any Arthur Treachers locations left. I haven't heard of them for many years. Regarding my previous references to Whataburger, something else I read yesterday was that they are evaluating opening up a network of purely "digital kitchen" locations where orders can be placed only over your cell phone, and can be picked up at that location in person or delivered by Door Dash, Grub Hub, etc. to wherever you want. We are soon to be living in an entirely new world.

I stand by my first comment in post #3. Now we have 165 responses generated by a discussion of fast food ketchup, of all the possible concerns in the modern world.

Thats because its wayyyy more enjoyable to talk about ketchup than most of the other possible concerns

Has anyone noticed a kind of "anti-ketchup" flavor to some recent articles talking about how much sugar ketchup has? They make it sound like ketchup is similar to cake frosting or something....

It is one of the top condiments in the country and someone is trying to take it down. My suspicions lie with the mayonnaise people...

Recipe content for Ketchup is ~3.7-grams of sugar per [serving]! A 20-ounce bottle of Heinz Ketchup has nearly 158-grams of sugar in it! So unless you smothering your fries in ketchup by using a single 20-ounce bottle of ketchup to satisfy your taste, than 158-grams of sugar isn't the problem! On a side note, Chinese Duck Sauce contains ~11-grams of sugar per [serving], and a serving is anything you want it to be, either a dollop (approximately that of a tablespoon) or overflowing (approximately that of a 20-ounce bottle)…
