At 1050 FPS it might be super sonic, depending on the ambient temperature.
I have to be quiet. I'll give them a try though. I do like the concept.

I've considered the above as an alternate solution to our problem here in the hills of SoCal. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is re-populating with young families and no longer do we see the American flag flying in front of each home...if you get my point.
Tree rats aren't much of an issue here but we do have a problem with roof rats. A couple years ago our illustrious governor outlawed the use of a certain bait chemical that was very effective in controlling the smooth tail population and the [now] legal stuff does nothing to the critters. I put out a couple game cameras in the fenced off garden area and they loved it and kept coming back for more. Just might have to make a short flight to an adjoining state and stock up on the good stuff.

The only thing i hear when shooting these through a 16 in bolt is the hammer and the impact (if shooting to a back stop). Haven't had one go super sonic yet, but can't guarantee anything. They seem pretty consistent. Perhaps worth a try. Am deliberately using copper washed through suppressor.
A good back stop is critical in the suburban setting. The rig I have is very quiet as well. Hammer strike and the pop from impact, which is about the loudest sound heard. Most of my shots are in the 5-10 yard range. I used to bait the tree rats at the base of an old bull pine in the back yard but the population here now is thin and young, and healthy so I really don't do much shooting any more. There used to be three nest in every tree. Not any more.

I think the ringer must have realized even he couldn't jump high or far enough to reach the bird feeders now that I moved the bird bath so it looks like my problem is solved....for now.
