Here are my 3 .45 ACP Revolvers.

1917 Colt from 1919

M37 Brazilian from 1946 run

1917 S&W from 1918. Appears to have been rebuilt at the factory with full address over stamped on frame, side plate appears to be from different gun. Hammer is post war transitional for use with sliding hammer block, Finish is factory nickel done in late 70s. I recently added the smooth Goncalo Alves magnas and wonder sight.

All are fun to shoot with .45 AR cases and light charges of Bullseye or Unique.

3rd time is the charm!!!

I have two more that are unserviceable. Both are 1919 production Colts. Both are with a gunsmith waiting on a repair quote. One has a ringed barrel and little finish remaining. The metal surface is good with no major pitting and the action is still tight. Depending on what we can find for a barrel I will either rebarrel and leave the rest as is or refinish with a matt blue or parkarizing.

The other has a nice older refinish but there is damage to the frame where the recoil shield is pressed in. The hammer nose is broken and there are some lock work issues.

I am hoping that the second gun can be repaired. If so it probably will be expensive.

Very nice pair of .45s. At some point I would like to find some thing more modern with decent sights.

A 625 might be just the ticket.

Great looking set of .45s. The 1950 and 1955 Target model are two that are still on my wish list. Now if Smith & Wesson would just rework the model 27 Classic in .45 ACP and stamp the barrel Model 1950 they would really have something.

I have four, and they are among my favorite guns to shoot: a Colt M1917, a Cimarron/Uberti SAA, a S&W 1937 Brazilian, and a S&W Model 1955.

This is the only revolver. No model designation. Obviously a "pre-25"

I have a salt and pepper set. The blued gun is a military model and the nickel is a commercial model with aftermarket nickel.

I have two many 45ACP revolvers with no pics and two lazy to get them out!
Some are more gooder than others, but this is the bestist one!

This 1955 Target was shipped on 16 Sept 1955, lettered by Dr Jinks on 16 Sept 2015, and my birthDAY is 16 Sept, way before this gun was shipped! I bought the gun without grips and put the cokes on it!

I only have one and it shoots great, for a snub nose. It'a a 1917 Colt New Service cut down with no finish. The action is smoother than my old Python and without stacking. Shooting double action standing up at 15 yards easily put them in the black. But I had a higher aiming point as marked to do that. Not target shooting but for a 103 year old gun (made in 1920) I'm fine with that. The guy I bought it from said the old retired cop he bought it from sometimes carried it CC.

Just this one 1917 with a 1918 ship date. Was used by my great uncle in WW2 when he was stationed in Italy. Have the correct and original numbered stocks. I prefer either the Pachs or the cherry checkered panels myself.

I would think the side plate was fit to your revolver at the factory when the added the "sliding hammer block". Not a bad revolver despite the rework.
