They did it! Triple K is selling new mags for the 52.

SMITH & WESSON MODEL 52 .38 WADCUTTER MAGAZINE - Triple K
I am surprised that they let this out of the bag so soon. These are meant to be introduced at the SHOT Show in January.

For the past 10 years or so the management at Triple K has been willing to produce new items. I talk to them Every Year at SHOT. I also Alpha Test many of the new offerings

We first started talking about the Model 52 mags more than a decade ago. However there always is a different magazine with a larger perspective customer base for them to work on

Triple K was talked into producing 38 Super magazines for the SIG P220s about 5 years ago but that was pretty easy as all they needed to do was not put the spacer in the 9MM magazines and use a longer follower.

Last year the Styer GB magazines were introduced. It is so nice to have more than three magazines for my two pistols.

I can not recall when the 22LR Walther PP-PPk/s magazines came out but those needed a slight redesign.
Well, there goes the value of my m-52 mag inventory!
Mike, you have nothing to worry about. There are Model 52 shooters that will only use Factory magazines no matter what.

While Triple K is filling a much needed void with their products, the steels, springs and fabrication fall short of the OEM mags in many cases.

They have been around since about 1945. Some (ahem . . . ahem) of the older offerings got a bad reputation due to poor materials. Obviously they can not have been making bad products for almost eight decades and still be in business

I am happy to say that modern Triple K management has been open to constructive commentary which has led to modification and improvement in several of the designs

Mark, have you seen or tested any of these new mags?
Alpha testing is usually confined to in house testing, Beta testing is done by un-biased independent labs and test facilities.

My past experience with Triple K mags was not great. Would work is some guns but not others. I had a few for High Standard Victor and none would work in my gun. Gave them to a friend that had a High Standard and all worked well and is still using them. I don't think the value of original mags will be affected.

I have had good luck with the older (American production) mags over the years. I have had poor luck with the newer (Mexican production) mags, except for the ones produced for the new Colt .32 and .380. I guess they CAN do good work if they choose to watch their QC and use decent materials.

For the sake of you M52 guys, I HOPE Triple K gets it right. Their magazines are kind of iffy. Some are fine and some are problematic. I avoid them because of past experiences, but do have 1 or 2 that actually work reliably. The rest went back to them. have't bought a Triple K in 30 years - hopefully they have stepped up to the plate!

Personal experience with Triple K has been spotty at best. I might try on as a range mag. I stick with factory mags ( or factory suppliers) in ANY pistol that may be utilized for defense. Good supply of 1st n 2nd Gen mags. That said , if MegGar ever produces these mags, I'm in quick!

Good on Triple K for putting forth the effort to make model 52 magazines again, and hope they work well.
