NE Ohio Fall "Bunch" August 19, 2023

I was disappointed with yankee lake, empty tables and what I believe were Desperate guys trying to liquidate.

I bought two boxes of .380 acp for $16.00 a box

Rare Medina appearance, crowded at the beginning. Lot of buyable S&W's under 1000.00, k22 & k38 around 850 which I thought was reasonable. A registered magnum at 7000 which looked nice, 6 1/2" bbl. Guy walking around with a model 19 4" at 700, didn't look at it. Sold a H&R 999 so it was worth it to go, Larry

Was at Medina on Saturday. Picked up some pocket knives, the prices on the Smiths we all like seem to be coming down a little. The show wasn't very crowded by the time i left.

Got word from Gary this weekend that Mark S. passed away late November from a rare form of cancer. He attended the Bunch frequently. May he rest in peace and his family find peace. We're gonna miss him, Larry

Went to Warren today, there from 11:30 to 1:30, Parking full, decent crowd. was looking for K frame wood grips, found none. Didn't look at any firearms. Typical table/vendor complaints that nobody's buying because of the economy (or Christmas gift buying).
Found out that the previous announcement that there would be no more Yankee Lake shows has changed. The site, the ballroom, was to be used as a music/entertainment venue but that proved to be disappointing financially, so the gun shows will continue there.

Mom (far left) and her two waiting for more apples. I was hand feeding them apple pieces. It used to be mom plus three but lately it's only been plus two.

Just wanted to wish those fine folks I've had the pleasure of meeting the last three gatherings a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!

Those of you traveling please be safe out there👍

I was going to bring my collection of model 19's to the Spring Gathering but with my 3 purchases of model 27's I believe I'll be toting these👍

I wish your Holydays are wonderful and your holidays also!

Not sure about the 19s and 27s, you vehicle has a weight limit?

Kevin

Will call Marty after the new year and ask about a date. I actually have a new one to display, maybe 2.

Until then, wishing everyone a Happy & Peaceful Christmas. This Christmas will be a lot better than last year. Having Christmas dinner here for 2 of the kids and their family. Then a visit to Dayton. What's are all of you doing? Larry

Larry,

Are you one of the PE Santa's? A buddy of mine is also!

This Holy Day will be just Himself, Herself and the three Goldens. A true "Silent Night".

Kevin

Thanks Pete, sure glad you and Eric enjoy attending the Bunch.

Kevin, I was a Polar Express Santa for about 4 years. Totally enjoyed the excitement of the kids as I moved through the car loaded with smiles. They believed!!

Before that the wife and I did the Mr Jingaling Run for 3 years as Mr & Mrs Clause. Mr Jingaling (a local actor) would sing to the kids then make the iconic Keys for the kids, then we would visit. Looked just like the TV show.

Quit because of the shot mandate they demanded for all volunteers. Even if I would have had the shots I would have quit. Now it's the "North Pole Adventure" Warner Brothers got 40% of the profits for owning the Name Polar Express. Figure that 45,000 people rode on the 2 trains each night in one season. Lot of people and a big operation. Larry

Mr. Jingeling, wasn't that from the Halle's store.
I remember the Cleveland downtown store windows at Christmastime of Halle's, May Co., & Higbees.

Mr. Jingeling, the Keeper of the Keys. Yes, he was connected to Halle's and if I remember correctly appeared on the Captain Penny Show or Barnaby Show at Christmas time.
