Hertz dumps EVs

My son works on rental car road at ABIA. He said there is ONE ev charging station shared by five rental car companies. SO, chances are if you rent an ev, unless the previous customer returned it charged, you will get it with what charge left in it.
Collision damage. It's because of the high cost of repairing collision-damaged EVs. Sorry to quote the actual SEC filing...

There is a city senior center about 2 blocks from my house where all of the old folks in the area hang out. A pretty neat place, free lunch, exercise equipment, movies, computers, bridge tournaments, etc. always quite a few folks there. They have a free charging station there for four EVs but I have yet to see an EV plugged in. I guess not many seniors have an EV.

I think every household should be provided with one EV. Bare bones, "beetle" sized grocery getter. Should be doable with all the cash we waste on needless and pointless stuff.
The problems for EVs keeps growing. Approximately one-half of our country will experience zero temperatures multiple times each winter and this video shows the results. Sure, gas cars with old/bad batteries can have the same experience in cold, but that is the fault of the owners not replacing batteries when they should. Tesla owners are not yet needing to change batteries and the car still failed. The results - dead Teslas. Funny that none of these owners ever heard of "preconditioning".

It's just plagued on so many fronts.
The grid remains hopeless
2% of mechanics know how to work on them.
Batteries are priced to consider them irreplaceable.
The correct battery technology is being slow walked because they'll last too long.
when they fail to do the job, it's good old internal combustion saving the day.
If it is to play a serious role, it'll be a hybrid using solid state batteries, ideally of low cost sodium chemistry sourced from sea water.
until then ... some are solving the problem old school
