I have not found many current or completed auctions showing recent sales of a Model 16-4 with 4" barrel.

I see far more of the 6" and 8-3/8"

Curious what you folks may have seen one of these has sold for recently??

Don't see them often, my SWAG would be a 4 inch ANIB would go close to $2k in an auction format. One showing quite a bit of use, I'm yet to see one of those, maybe $1000. Reduce the $2k price for missing box/papers and condition. A roughly equivalent price wise alternative might be a 3.5 inch 27-2. I say that because a few years ago I traded a 3.5 inch 27-2 even for a 4 inch 16-4. Watching prices since I think they've stayed about the same. I saw an 8 3/8 with box sell six months ago for $1800. I wouldn't expect to find any of the barrel lengths where I shop, without box papers, priced at less than $1200. Good luck.

There was model 16, 4", no box on a table at our local gun show a couple of weeks ago priced at $1250. I was surprised to see it still there on Sunday afternoon. It appeared to be in excellent condition though I did not handle it.

I would think at $1,250 it would have been sold pretty quick....that said, some folks are not aware at what they are looking at with the 16-4's

I paid a bit more than that for mine, which did have the box etc about 4 years ago or so. Not very many of them around. But the 32 mags are still only interesting to a small group, kind of like the 41 mag guys only smarter. (just JOKING 41 fans)

Lots of revolver people probably glance at it and think 38 or 357 and walk on. A few think another cartridge I would need to buy or get dies for or I could by a 38 or 357 for less and walk away. Now days most people are semi auto fans and they don't even glance. Guys like me look at it and think I already have plenty of 32s and save our money for some other oddball deal or deals.

Meanwhile a decent gun in a great caliber sets there at a reasonable price.
