Are these markings that makes this M&P/Model 10 super special?

Local guy had this listed for $1K and then marked it sold...To me, it's a $400-$500 gun all day long, except for the frame markings, which apparently mean something to somebody.

I'm sure it's beyond my pay grade, but can anyone tell what these left side frame markings mean? It looks like something-something "571"?

I have a beater 10-5 with the same markings. Mine are AA 465. Mine also has JP 1694 stamped on the frame forward of the trigger guard.
The marking on the barrel is the importers mark WSS,Quincy IL

They were imported by Williams Shooters Supply Quincy, Il.

I had seen them on GB, but my LGS had ordered 2, so I picked up the better of the 2.

I think I payed $295 for it, but that was a while ago. Everyone should have a beater Model 10.

I have had two with the JP markings, both 10-7 models sold by J&G. They were part of a bunch without barrels that were imported from Canada without the original 2 inch barrels. Evidentaly Canada outlawed 2 inch barrels, even for law enforcement, and sold the revolvers. The U.S. evidentaly probits the importation of 2 inch barrels, hence no barrels. Someday there will be a bunch of 2 inch barrels on the market, but for right now very hard to find.

The fact that it's marked "sold" means nothing really. The seller could have simply pulled the add. I do that when a gun isn't selling and I want to just end it.

Of course it could mean it got sold too.

IMO, there aren’t any functional $300 K frames anymore. Certainly not around here. Maybe $400, even $450.

The least expensive one I've seen lately was $450 for a rather ratty 10-7. I did see a Rohm 38 for $250 though. :D Looked brand new, but I'm not sure it was "functional".

I'd say for a $1000 that would be a hard "no"! The numbers on the frame look like inventory numbers, likely applied by a law enforcement agency or security company. These days, I'd say as long as it is mechanically sound and there is no rust, that Model 10 is worth not more than $400.
