This was from an auction in Nevada with one dark picture. I bought it and had it shipped. Something told me to bid on it.
The scope is marked on the bell "GERMANY PECAR BERLIN VARIABLE 3-7"....Glass beautiful in it and has somewhat of an odd retical. I'm sorry about my poor pics but I couldn't get this phone to focus on the reticle design....Not being a scope expert, the reticle kinda looks like a 30-30 reticle, but the upper crosshair is very fine. It has a serial number on the bottom of the lens "54839", and it has its original leather scope caps with has a "PECAR" stamp in the end of the cap....It just feels like an extremely well made scope from the 50's.
The mount, rings are all marked "PARKER- HALE MADE IN ENGLAND and then BA 27".
From the best I can gather from searching, the scope mount was made by Parker Hale in the 50's for their own target custom Lee Enfield rifles... I have found some information on the mount and rings, but no prices. There are a few scopes like it listed, but they have no mount and don't seem to be cheap.
Anybody ever seen on of these? Again, sorry for these not so great pics.
