Nice, I just have a 6" M28-2.
I did have a 4" shipped in my birth year, 1954 and gave it to a close friend that had wanted one for years but never did find one.

Model29-26.5, that is a very nice one. The grips look sweet too. Like rubiranch, I only have a 6" one, but it is a Model 28 No Dash and is my birth year (1960) gun too.

Good looking revolver. I love the 4" model 28's.

I guess I'm in the minority. I was never attracted to a 357 in an N Frame. If I'm toting an N then caliber better start with a 4………. That said, I would like to have an HD or OD. Which makes zero sense because it's even less potent than the 357. I guess it's the history that draws me to the 38s

That was my duty gun in uniform and I brought it back for stakeouts and raids once I went into soft clothes. Somewhere in Wyoming or western Nebraska there's a M28 with a lime green front sight insert. I'd make someone a great trade or cash offer to get it back.

For me it was model 29 that started my fascination with revolvers and then the model 19. I didn't know squat about any of it until last December. The 29 and 19 were the only models I knew anything about at all. When I found out there was a 357 in N frame I had to have it.
Now I have three 27's and three 28's. I guess I need a 28 nickel…
I have a polished 28 I got on GB that I will i post pics of fairly shortly. I know it's not factory but it's very cool.

I will be on the look out for that online if it comes up anywhere.

As far as I'm aware, the police wanted a more affordable 357 mag than the 27 which was the only one available at the time, so they asked SW to produce a more budget friendly version.
Bead blast and no checkering.
I had to have one.
I wonder who mine have belonged to over the years.
Were they involved in stake outs? Were they ever pulled out of their holsters?
Or did they just belong to enthusiasts who mostly kept them in a safe?
Probably the latter.

You better bring your "long" wallet for that one!

I've limited myself to two. Saw a beauty S pre-fix with a decent set of cokes at a NH shop for $1299. It was perfect until the stocks came off, one small rust spot on the side that would show with magnas installed. It gave me a reason to walk away.
