Nice looking Model 29-2. It certainly appears to have been used, but other than the damaged stocks, not abused. It's a fine looking shooter! Be sure to post a range report.

Very nice! As you know, we have some excellent craftsmen here on the Forum that can fix up those stocks if you choose to do so! Enjoy!

I have several pairs of good SW stocks I can put on it, but I'd like to take a crack at repairing these myself.
I have three or four pairs that need some refinishing and/or crack/chip repair.
How do I find out how to go about that?
I've seen some refinish guys on YouTube but not a chipped stock repair for something like this.
Who should I talk to?
Thanks.

Nice looking gun.

I think I understand the process, but pretty much suck at fine wood work. Takes patience and practice.

Find some matching wood, flatten the chipped areas at about 45 degrees and glue pieces of wood back on being careful to have the gain running the same as that on the stocks. Then file, and sand the edges of new pieces flush to the original area and with the outer areas having correct profile

Cool. Thanks. I saw a guy do that on Youtuge with a long gun stock. Seems it would be the same method.
I'll get to this when I have a good bit of time off.
It'll be an interesting project.
I have about three or four pairs of stocks that I'd like to make as good as I can.

You found yourself a very nice 4" nickel Model 29-2. The only nickel Model 29-2 I have in my modest collection is this 6" version ca. 1980. I do have a 4" nickel Model 57 from the same time period. Good luck with the stock repairs.

Beautiful 29!

I had another pair I put on yesterday in 100% shape.

I have three or four pairs that needs either refinishing or repairs.
It'll be a nice little project to work on them all while I have all the tools, oils and sandpaper out.
