RIP James Earl Jones

We lost one of our own. James Earl Jones was a fellow NRA member. IMDB attributes the following to him:

"The world is filled with violence. Because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise, they will win and the decent people will lose."

I never knew this about him.

I didn't know this either, thanks for sharing. My guess is Heaven just got a little nicer...

RIP - A long and productive life. I actually met him in about 1984 or so, at a gas station off exit 8 in Danbury CT., of all places. Thought I recognized him, said hi, and the voice was instantly recognizable. Pumping his own gas...lol

His voice alone made him millions, not to mention his acting. Curious if Arbys will still use his commercials. This may be sacrilege but I always mute the TV when those Arby commercials come on.
Seems like we're losing a lot of 85+ year old musicians and actors; every one of them a small piece of our younger days. RIP.

The Arby's commercials are done by Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), but he does sound a lot like James Earl Jones, a happy coincidence that did not slip past Arby's unnoticed I'm sure.

May He Rest In Peace, he has certainly earned it, for all the fun,joy and entertainment he has brought to the world.
Seems to have been a truly good person, a man of integrity, a great actor and apparently had a great sense of humor.
1 or 2 weekends ago, I pulled his underappreciated movie/DVD, "A family Thing" off the shelf. A really fine character driven story with another of my favorite actors, Robert Duvall. He will be missed.

Hitler Rants Parodies did a "Hitler is informed James Earl Jones has died"
It was actually touching, not a rant at all, and a very nice retrospective on Jones' work.
