That should have the full length rear sight, not the round end currently being used. I doubt if the factory has any, but check E-bay. I'm guessing about $125. Places like Midway or Numrich (Gun Parts International) should have one.

I called smith and wesson a year or two ago, and they said they no longer had those rear sights. But they recommended Bowen Classic Arms as a replacement for them.
I called Bowen and took a quick measurement, and ended up with a rear sight, far superior to the original.
There are different front hole spacing for the different models on a square flange rear sight.

In addition to being the old style, full length rear sight, it's also fully checkered to match the top strap. Likely aftermarket examples won't be checkered, just serrated. For an original, you'll need to keep an out on eBay, gun shows, forum classifieds, etc. Although probably not too many floating around, it'll be easier to find than the almost mythical rear sight for a 29-5. lol

I bought the individual parts from Numrich and assembled my own, finding a complete one is difficult and expensive. I do have an aftermarket Behlert sight that came off my 27-2 that I will sell.
