Iran is directly attacking Israel with missiles. My wife texted me and I’m at work, so I really can’t look up the details. Anybody heard any news on it?

It’s true. May the sands of Iran turn to glass, or a parking lot.
My initial thought was that I hope Israel bombs them back into the stone age...but realized that they are already there, so I have to think of something else.
So much destruction, and so much bloodshed, in that entire region over the years... 
Egypt and Jordan realized decades ago that it's best to live in peace with Israel, rather than pursue an endless, futile war. I wish the other nations there have the same epiphany...and soon.

Amazing how everything went to **** in a short couple years.
Seems like a save face maneuver, the Iranian state-controlled media can espouse the revenge of Israel's "atrocities" in Gaza and Lebanon.
The action enables the continued use of Hezbollah and Hamas as their proxies to sow the seeds of terror throughout the middle east. The fighters on the ground have to believe they are making some kind of difference, and that Iran has their backs.
Iran knows that any meaningful attack on Israel will green light the end of their nuclear ambitions which is the real threat to not only Israel but the rest of the world.
I think Israel knows where to strike, they need a reason to strike, and Iran is not foolish enough to give it to them. I think Israel is also concerned about what kind of fallout would result from that type of strike. Not political fallout I am referring to radioactive debris from an attack. That type of attack could result in Iran being a large glowing parking lot in a very real sense.

Its being reported that Iran is launching missiles against their own supporters...CNN reporters are scrambling in disarray.

If/when Israel strikes back, I'm pretty sure we'll see the hits vs misses/intercepts ratio reversed.

I'm hoping that the retaliatory strikes will be concentrated on the oil production facilities. Hard to finance their proxies if they can't make money to do it.

I don't have a comment on the hostilities. However, Iran has the most oil in the sandbox except for the Saudis. The Persians are great people and if they can rid themselves of "stupid and reckless leadership" they can become great friends with us again. Oh wait, we need to do that too. Nevermind. Joe
This is an interesting observation...
In case you haven't been paying attention, things have been that way over there for decades. In fact one could make a sensible argument it has been going on for centuries.
I'll make a recommendation for a book pertaining to the post-WW1 division of western Asian territories into new countries and the turmoil that has caused. It's "A Peace to End All Peace, The Fall of the Ottoman Empire and the Creation of the Modern Middle East" by David Fromkin.

I don't get it. If Iran shoots 200 missiles into Israel, why aren't 200 missiles going in the opposite direction? Iran might not want to trade missile for missile if they can't shoot them down while Israel can.
