I have a gentleman looking to sell his Model 53 in .22 Jet. He asked me to give him a value on it. It's in the box, has the 6 (22 cartridges) with it. 200-300 pieces of brass, complete set of Redding dies, loading and the sizing set to size from 357.

Also, did they all come with the extra cylinder??

I don't currently have pictures. I'ts in very good condition considering 60+ years old.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

These have been selling at what I consider fairly high prices in recent auctions. Those in top condition with the extra cylinder, inserts, box, cleaning kit up to $3k. Take away the pieces and condition and the price drops. I can't imagine a 6 inch with box and inserts in decent condition selling below $1200 and if condition is good, likely $1500+. Pictures would help folks actually grade condition and assess value.

Barrel erosion!

Be careful of barrel erosion at the breech end! It occurs EARLY in life when shooting the original Remington factory ammo! This is how it starts! This barrel probably has a couple hundred rounds fired since new.

This is a few more rounds down the barrel but not as many as you may think!

This will affect the accuracy a lot when shooting much past 50 yds. You can't form 22 Jet from 357 mag brass in one step! It is a multi step process and you must anneal the brass first and probably a couple times during the forming process. Be prepared for a 50% failure rate before you finish with the number of brass you need!

I knew I sold it too cheap....LOL Glad you are happy with it.

Are you keeping the scope on it?

I appreciated the deal for sure. Negative on the scope. Sourced a correct original rear sight. Gun just looks better in the factory configuration plus I'm not varmint shooting with it. I'm happy to ship the scope and mount to you gratis if you want to use it on something else.
