S166178, Class B-engraved by Virginia Le Blanc and shipped on June 21, 1956 to Olympic Wholesale. Los Angeles, CA. One of two B-engraved guns in the shipment (other has serial number S166166). These are the first two engraved 44 Magnums shipped by S&W. Click on the photo for a better look.

Beautiful!!! Did Ms. LeBlanc mark the gun (it seems to me that she marked a lot of the guns she engraved)? Interesting that it shipped with magnas, when the default for the 44 Magnums were target cokes...

That is a BEAUTY!!! Interesting, based on the placement of the barrel roll marks, it looks like it started life as a 6.5"er and was cut by the factory to 4". Very cool gun.
