Finnish police are investigating whether a Russian ship was involved in the sabotage of an electricity cable running between Finland and Estonia.

A very telling conversation at the press conference between a journalist and Director General of Finland's police.

"Have you contacted the Russian authorities about this [damaged Estlink-2 power cable]?"

"No."

"When will you be?"

"We will not."

In addition, all police departments except the Helsinki Police Department have their own VATI teams for demanding situations. These teams are different from the Karhu unit in terms of their size and their more restricted capabilities.

The national Special Intervention Unit Karhu is located at the Helsinki Police Department. Its basic task is to offer support to police units everywhere in Finland. There is often need for Karhu's competence and experience.

I recently worked with a super-competent Finnish Police counter-terrorism investigator who was helping train Somali Federal Police CT investigators complex skills. She had more than 30 years' experience and impeccable technical skills. If she is representative of Finnish Police, you have top-flight police services.

Finns are particularly good at Vessel Boarding, Search, ans Siezure (VBSS). Ask the Russian FSB. 😃 From reuters.com .

HELSINKI, Dec 26 (Reuters) - Finnish authorities on Thursday seized a ship carrying Russian oil in the Baltic Sea on suspicion it caused the outage of an undersea power cable connecting Finland and Estonia a day earlier, and that it also damaged or broke four internet lines.

The Cook Islands-registered ship, named by authorities as the Eagle S, was boarded by a Finnish coast guard crew that took command and sailed the vessel to Finnish waters, a coast guard official said at a press conference

Re above, kinda puts the Russkies in a bind in that the ship is part of the Russian "shadow fleet" that clandestinely ships embargoed oil from Russia while Russia claims the ships don't belong to them. So Russia can't complain about the seizure...

Using the "shadow fleet" to cut cables will lead, hopefully, to more seizures of these shadow fleet ships by our allies.

Do your emergency services use any 4 to 10-man hovercraft for ice & water rescue or small military unit ops? They are in use in some of the US Northeast; they're rugged, simple machines that mostly use snowmobile engines.

I am sharing this so everyone in the US knows what the fate of the Ukrainians will be if Russia wins the war.
Ukraine needs weapons and permission to use all weapons without restrictions

Seeds of the Finnish people's hatred towards Russia were cruelly sown in the first half of the 18th century.
On the orders of the Russian Tsar Peter the Great, a genocide took place, which is known in Finland as "Great Wrath".

The fate of Ukraine is in our hands

SLAVA UKRAINI

It's tough to give a "Like" for a story like this. But I can thank you for bringing this piece of horrendous history to light.

As long as it's allowed here, I want to tell you things about Finland.

How does a Russian admiral review the Black Sea fleet?

In a glass bottomed boat!

The Russian Black Sea fleet is now a pile of seabed.
