In the space of 12 days, the Syrian rebel situation went from a sudden takeover of Aleppo to Bashar Al-Assad fleeing the country. Rumor control says his jet crashed, but I'd ask the Israelis about that as they seem to control much of Syria's airspace. The Assad Regime Has Fallen, Claims Swirl Around Possible Crash Of His Escape Jet

Now we shall see who fills the power vacuum given the multiple factions backed by diverse countries such as the US, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. Then there's your basic Kurdish groups who have been after autonomy from the latter three and Syria for ages. Want to place bets on a larger civil war breaking out?

I can only guess what the Russians in Latakia are thinking. They were bombing the rebels around Aleppo not five days ago. What's Russian for vamanos! pronto!

HTS, the biggest group in the uprising, was Al-Qaeda affiliated until 2017. We had designated it a terrorist organization.

This rebellion has Turkey's backing. They're tired of the mess on their Syrian border.

Not much US media coverage or information about this as it was developing. Granted the collapse went quickly.
I think for the USA this is not good or bad, is just is.
We should definitely stay the heck out of it, unless our troops are threatened/affected.

I'm fairly certain I'm not alone in my reservations about the coalition of HTS and Turkish-backed Syrian militias (Syrian National Army).

Let's hope the throat cutters don't take over.

It seems the little dictator fled to Russia. Birds of a feather.

While the world watches, I wonder about a lot of things that could possibly happen. Maybe I should add, both good and bad. My thoughts remain. This is not over.
