Saw This .44 At A LGS

I'm not up on the older ones so I thought I'd post some pics here of what I saw.
Someone's grandpa died and this was in the closet was the story behind it .

As the box top notes, it is a .44 HE model of 1950, a fairly scarce gun in general (1200 reported produced).

How much did you give them for it?

I didn't buy it . I'm a shooter now. Collecting days are over. Plus I'm not knowledgeable about the old ones so I took some pics to post here so someone could identify it . I was told the price is $2k. Could be negotiable.
This gun shop is about the size of an average bedroom.

That, as others have said, is a scarce gun and to find it with what is probably its original box is a real bonus. Looks to be in excellent condition although the grips are newer. I'd negotiate on it but if it took $2k to take it home that would be ok too.

They're normally closed on Sundays and Mondays but this close to Christmas that might change. Also I was told the price was $2k.

Someone on here from Texas called and bought it . The guys at the store said they had at least 6 people call on it . Early bird gets the worm .
I hope the buyer posts nice detailed pics of it .

They did . They had a new Colt Kodiak for $1579.00 and they let me have it for $1400.00 .

Wow...That a grail gun for me, I would have been all over that one if I saw it at a G.S....I still prefer the 2nd Model but that's a beauty, box and all. I'm glad one of our folks scored it on your information.
