I just ran out of fuel oil for my heater. Apparently, they forgot to fill my tank.
I called the fuel oil people emergency line and they said that they'll be out bright and early tomorrow morning to fill my tank.
Then the fun, getting the ancient oil furnace started begins.

A few years back we had a terrible furnace that was always breaking down. I bought 3 electric heaters. They would keep the house warm.

Dogs and cats that sleep on the bed can help. We usually turn off the heat at night because the two of us and two dogs keep the bedroom warm. The bedroom is upstairs so heat rises/stays.

Depending on what type fuel you are using 10 gallons of kerosene or diesel supreme from the gas station could have got you back up and running. The boiler at my parents house ran on diesel supreme.

We have a little portable oil filled, radiator looking electric heater that we plug into our bathroom in the winter time. We like to sleep with the room temperature pretty cool but my wife likes the master bathroom to be nearly 80° in the morning when it's cold. The little heater works great and doesn't make any noise since it doesn't have a fan on it. The bathroom is actually too warm. I can barely breathe when I go in there in the morning.

Wayne, we hadn't heard...did the fuel oil guy show up the next morning when he said he would or is it one of those "I'll be there the next day...give or take a day or two."?

Here's hoping you are sitting in a warm home as I type this.:)
Yup, toasty warm here now.
Not only did he show up when he said but stayed until I fired up the ancient furnace to make sure it started okay.
