I cooked a 13.5# turkey on Thanksgiving for my wife and I. It cost under $7 at Kroger.

Thanksgiving dinner came out excellent!

By BIL left Traverse City yesterday for Florida. They had 6" of snow on the ground and expected up to 8 more inches by Monday, so he decided to quit deer hunting and bug out early. He spent the night and we had turkey/bacon/Swiss cheese sandwiches and some shrimp for supper.

The Mrs and I had my homemade turkey noodle soup for lunch and there's still a bunch left.

Dinner tonight will be leftovers stuffing/turkey with gravy, 7 layer pea salad and some green bean casserole. Even after all these meals, we'll have a bunch of leftovers. I HATE throwing food away and it's all good.

I was doing pretty well watching my weight, but have a doctors appointment Tuesday morning.

Note to self...
Never schedule a doctors appointment 5 days after a major holiday!

On another plus side, the Mrs and I drove our vehicles to the local Kroger gas station and topped off both tanks for $1.97/gallon using October fuel points that expire at midnight!

God bless America!

For lunch today, I had several slices of turkey breast slathered with cranberry sauce and wedged between two thick slabs of homemade bread.

Now, I'm warm and comfortable and sitting in the rocking chair next to the fire trying to stay awake while watching the Arizona State/Arizona game. At this moment, all is right with the world.:)

We had our family group turkey dinner yesterday at my nephew's house. My sister roasted the turkey and brought the sliced meat and I made my stuffed mushrooms. My nephew decided he wanted the recipe for my stuffed mushrooms. Glad to see it being passed down to the next generation.

Chad, that’s what your freezer is for!:) A couple of weeks from now you’ll be thinking “Dang, I wish I had some turkey and sides to eat now!”

My Daughter had to work Thanksgiving Day. so they came over yesterday. I cooked a 9-pound turkey breast. we had a few leftovers. Today while we are decking the halls and listening to football games i hope to get leftover dressing warmed up crispy in the waffle maker with turkey and Cranberry relish

Smoked turkey is the best. Tastes like ham.
YES!!!! it does! I had a smoked boneless turkey breast that I cooked and sliced up to make sandwiches for lunch and it tasted a lot like ham. I couldn't believe it. Wish I could remember where I got it though. I think it was from Walmart.

The Thanksgiving feast! Hard to find a more wonderful meal.

Is it Thanksgiving again? I've always been bad about keeping track of things like holidays and have even forgotten my own birthday a few times but since I've retired life has pretty much become like a perpetual weekend.
The days just flow by and I have even less interesting in keeping track of things like holidays. Oh well...........

I've always said that when you retire you have to get a new calendar. One with 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday every week :ROFLMAO:.
