CZ-75?

Here are pictures of my Pre-B CZ 75, the groovy-colored Communist box, and papers that came in it. Also pictured is the Ross (South African) holster I bought for it in Vienna, Austria many years ago.

This pistol has been 100% reliable with all ammo, including hollow-point and cast lead.

This was the first CZ 75 pistol that I had ever seen, other than in pictures. Some time in the mid-80s, somehow a batch of them were let into the country. I immediately had my FFL order one, and I was so happy when it arrived. When I first opened the box, it was like I was looking at something from another planet.

I have one. I’m trying to like it but I just can’t warm up to it. I prefer just about everything else in the collection. The single action is terrible and I’m not spending $300 to improve it. The small slide grooves just don’t work for me. The double action trigger reach is too long. It’s a quality piece, it works as advertised. But I don’t get the lovefest.

They are popular enough that they have been cloned by a number of companies. I have never had 1 (CZ) myself, but had 3 or 4 clones. My Jericho 941 that was an un issued surplus gun. Solid as a rock. Bob

Had a pre B CZ75 and currently own a CZ75b.
Very nice, very high quality gun. Very nice trigger. Unfortunately one of my least favorite handguns to shoot due to the very long distance to the trigger.
Definitely made for people with big hands or long fingers.
I recently made a post on another forum comparing the distance from backstrap to trigger face of some of my guns and width across the grips,
The CZ had both the second longest reach(HK USP45 was longer but thinner grip)
and second fattest grips with factory panels(Beretta 92, thicker grips but shorter trigger reach),
So the combo is not favorable to small hands.

I had a 75 SA, single action like BHP or 1911 and sold it a few years ago. I now have an SP-01 Omega. This one is a SA/DA with a decocker. It's the size of a Glock 19 with a light rail. Cajun did their deluxe package on it. It's a great little gun as all of the CZ's are but not sold on DA/SA. wonderful shooter and ergos are great.

I've had my CZ75 (Made in Chzechoslovakia) for about 25 years. These are among the finest semi-automatic pistols ever produced, IMHO.

Absolutely reliable and eats every kind of ammo out there (and many of my 9mm reloads) effortlessly. Built like a tank so it is very soft shooting, extremely accurate as well.

You just can't go wrong with a CZ product, handgun or long gun.

Cheers!

P.S. The CZ75's 50th Anniversary is coming up in '25!

I’ve owned them for years so no opinion on current manufacturing however I’m very fond of my 75b, 97b and my 9x19 75 Tactical Sport. Stellar firearms!

As others have already said, “Buy the CZ!”

The CZ 75 family of pistols is exceedingly good… I have just 4 now, but have had others.
(Therefore, I no longer keep a Hi Power in the stable… these scratch the itch for me!)

I say the same thing about every plastic, striker fired gun on the planet. LOL.

I bought one new about 30 years ago. I would make sure that he cannot buy it back whenever he wants to so that you do not feel obligated to do so. Mine shoots cast, traditionally lubed or pc's or jacketed very well.

I've really warmed up to CZs in the last couple of years. I can't believe I didn't discover them sooner. I have lok palm swell grips on a couple of them, perfect for larger hands. I don't think I ever make it to the range anymore without some variant of a CZ75. Also have a 97B. Back in fall I was at a gun show and found this glossy stainless 75B just before the show opened. Stainless ones don't show up very often around here. Glad to have it. I recommend you pick it up!
