Is this .32 S & W (Short), or Long?

I doubt there is much of a market for the shorter round. To me, the lower velocity round would be at the upper margin of safety for a .32 Safety Hammerless or Double Action but fine in a mechanically sound I or J frame in .32 Long. The second loading, not sure...maybe only in a .32 H & R or Federal Magnum. Just my opinion.

It's not long

Well it's short ammo. I don't have a top break I think in my hand ejector it will be OK. I have shot buffalo bore through my snub.
See pics next to 32 long.

Steinel ammo is NE Ohio based, Andy started about 10 years ago just selling his ammo at gun shows, now no more shows, just online sales. Only ammo I've tried/shot of his was 380acp and 10mm.

Never seen it before. I have .327 fed in both sp101 and lcr.
I would not have a problem trying it if I ever ran across it.
I have taught several mature (40s & up) to shoot. I start them with a 22 then move to the sp101 using .32 S&W, step up .32 long,, .32 H&R mag.
Gives most of them a good understanding of the recoil factor. I also then try the lcr to understand what difference the weight of gun makes.
Has worked pretty good in most cases.

Edit to add: Just looked at the website for this ammo. At close to $50 a box for .32s I won't be buying any, Just keep reloading my own.

Lots of steel in that I frame .32 cylinder, so the hotter load should be OK. If you have access to a chronograph seeing the actual load velocity would be interesting.

That's an awful lot of liability considering all the cheap knockoff top breaks out there! I don't even see any kind of warning. Zero reason to load the .32 S&W that hot. Not many (any?) .32 S&W Long top breaks, so Long or H&R can be hotrodded without much concern. I don't bother because I have 2 custom K-327's.

The velocities shown on the boxes are probably in error, but I would never consider shooting either load in a top-break, S&W or otherwise. They should both be safe in any solid frame .32 S&W Long revolver. Or .32 H&R or .327 Federal guns.

But, at the price I would never buy either of those loads!

Information on factory 32 S&W manufactured post-2000 "for revolvers in good working order" indicates a very conservative approach. Chronographed Remington and Winchester.

85g LRN Winchester - 540fps
88g LRN Remington - 580fps
