A gun to which you are "sentimentally attached"

In 1976 my Grandfather gave me a Remington 870 12 ga for Christmas. Did a lot of hunting and trap shooting with that shotgun. I haven't shot it in many decades but I do take it out of the safe every few years to remember my Grandfather. I'll never get rid of that gun.

Pass it down like my Grandfather did to me and I did to my Grandson.

I have had to sell several top notch firearms-I was a cash strapped student at the time. Only firearm I do not regret selling was an S&W M59-didn't like that aluminum frame.

My dad graduated high school in 1961. He was going to drop out and my grandpa promised him an LC Smith double barrel. It is a beautiful piece. Dark stock and nickel plated receiver with 24 inch barrels. Long story short, dad stayed in school and graduated. My grandpa made good on his promise, and gave dad the shotgun with his initials in the pistol grip.
I killed many squirrels and quail and rabbits with that old Smith. Shot my only perfect round of skeet with it.
I’ll treasure it always. When I go it’ll be my nephew’s to carry on.

One that was passed down to me by my father, which was passed down to him by my great uncle. It is a Marlin .22 s, l, lr caliber Marlin with a Winchester barrel. They made do, during the Great Depression. My great uncle served with Pershing with the U.S. Cavalry during the Mexican Expedition. He was quite the outdoorsman.

I've owned my 4506 (no dash) since new when they first came out, trading in my 645 to get it. I have since put the slide from a 4516 on top to make it easier to handle and carry while retaining the 8+1 configuration. (Technically, that makes it a 4596)

I have all the original parts to return it to stock if I ever feel like it, but in its current state it's the nicest shooting 3rd Gen .45 that I currently own. I am attached to it because it is the pistol I have owned the longest, and don't have any plans on ever selling.

FW Heym .22 caliber single rifle made in Germany before there was an East and a West. My first gun ever - it was my dad's.

Maybe I'm sentimental about this gun, too - Beretta 950 BS .25 auto - that I carried for years when it was illegal to carry concealed and a Federal felony where I carried it - that crime doesn't exist once it's "gone", if you follow my drift and I am sure that you do:

And this CZ Duo .25 ACP, given to me in the mid-1970s - arrived by mail, in a shoebox, tied with a string - other people commit felonies, too:

The PSA Baby Browning is long gone. No sentiment. It sucked.

I'm not embarrassed or ashamed of the alleged crimes that I claim were committed considering the Second Amendment, etc. :D

I have a Bel. made 20 ga. mag from early 70’s . First high dollar gun purchased after being freshly married ( she got over it). Great pheasant gun and accurate slug gun here in Iowa deer hunting. This little 20 has accounted for many white tails for me my 3 sons and grandkids are connecting with it now . The little A-5 shoots Winchester slugs like a rifle.

I’ve got a couple guns I’ve had since I was 14, a Mossberg 151 .22 and a 12 Ga.Winchester Model 97, 30 inch Full Choke made in 1934, but the most sentimental to me is a Beretta 950B I got 4 years ago.

My best Friend and I were coming back from the Lakeland Gun show at the Civic Center and when I dropped Him off at his Truck, He asked me to follow him Home..When we got there, He opened his Safe and handed me a small black pouch that had “Browning” on it….Inside was a Beretta 950B and He asked if I knew what was wrong with it…After removing the gray, parkerized Magazine and flipping up the Barrel,I pulled the hammer back and pulled the Trigger….I told Him it had a broken firing pin…He asked if I could fix it.

I asked Him where He got it…He advised He “ Took it off an NVA Officer that had no further need for it”. He than showed a small paper signed by some Marine Lt. giving Him authorization to keep this pistol.

He had done 3 tours…13 months plus 2 six months extensions paying 10K each…Back than You could buy a House for 10k and a new car for 2.

When I got home, I looked up the parts He needed and MGW had them. I wrote the part numbers and cost down for Firing pin a Spring and Magazine.

I gave it to Him and said get the parts and I’ll put them in for You..
A couple years later,1-17, He passed from Cancer….

He had wanted me to teach his Wife to shoot, married well over 50 years….When I went over to clean his guns and clear the loaded ones in the house, She asked me if I could fix the gun in the Browning pouch….It still had the paper with the part numbers on it….I told Her I’d get it squared away…

When I finally got Her out to the Range, I got Her to shoot it and She looked at Me and said “ He wanted You to have it”

I found a small nylon USA made holster and every time I go outside or work in the yard, or take out the trash, I slip it on my Belt and wear it under my Shirt…It stays next to me by my Chair…When I leave the the House, I carry either a S&W 340 or Shield .45.

Good memories! Won't be the same but, Lakeland has their big gun show on the 18th & 19th of Jan.

My grandfather on my Dad's side died of Pneumonia when he was 46 . I have two photographs of him and a Model 12 Winchester shotgun . Apparently he was bird hunter and somehow the gun managed to stay in our family despite many moves and Dad's three siblings . I don't hunt and I don't even remember the last time I shot it , but it's sacred as far as I'm concerned .

I've got a few that hold sentimental value.

My mother gave me this Model 29-2 as a birthday gift many years ago.

My mother and sister gave me these NA's for Christmas many years ago.

This old H&R was one of my granddad's carry guns back in the mid-20's. It has his and his brother's initials carved on the inside of the grips, along with Sept 10, 1925. I believe his brother gave him the pistol.

Can't find a pic of it at the moment, but I've also got an old Winchester model 190 that was given to me by my granddad in 1973, still shoots fantastic!

grandfather's 1954 model 70 in 30 06,it was given to me when he couldn't hunt any more ,killed a couple of nice bucks with it over the years

Too many to list. One would be my first gun, a simple Stevens model 15 plunger cocked single shot .22 rifle I received for Christmas at the age of thirteen and still have. I now have about eight of them and have quit looking for them on GB to keep from buying any more.

A coupla them.....

ALL of them........ OK, I'll give it a try:

FIRST and foremost is my Model 686. That will probably not leave me and my son will end up with it.

Next comes my mod 5903 (I just LUV third gens) I hate to say that I like it over the 5943 which would probably go

I've gotten very attached to my AR and my PPC, especially the Ruger. Might as well add the lever .22 and the AR to that because I'm really crazy about carbines. The Kel Tec Sub 2000 is neat, but the Ruger is more ergonomic and the Kel Tec is a 'tube gun', I call them 'skeleton' guns.

I just plain enjoy my SKS.

I'm thinking whether or not I would keep my 30-06 or the Mosin Nagant. I'm stuck on that one.....

Shotguns - I have a 1929 Browning A5 that my FIL gave me. The other shotguns are disposable.

I have a few J and K frames. I'm not attached to any of them (but I like having the model 10) I also have some SD semi pistols. But I'm not particularly attached to any of them.
