I use them in my 4Runner. Have had no problems got 148,000 miles on it.
I have used nothing but Wix on anything filtering motor oil.
I can't imagine that there is anything wrong with WIX, but they did not make the list of the top 10 in this link.

I would guess that any of the major names in oil filters would perform very well if regularly changed with the oil as per manufacturers recommendations.

About 15 years ago some people decided to determine who had the best. They set an extreme set of examinations. They cut ach apart, measures thickness of element as well as the length. Tested ever facet. At that time Wix and Purolator No.1 were heads and shoulders above anything else. Don't know how that stacks up today.
I call bull pucky on that site. Any site that ranks Fram in the top 10 is bogus, IMHO. Fram has had a long-time reputation of producing ****.

Amsoil also sells Wix on their website. I don't think Amsoil would have them if they were not good.
WIX is fine, FRAM is the one to avoid.

FRAM has been sold to various companies over and over for decades. At one time they were good but now it's the owner of the week and whatever quality control they want.
Most private label filter are made by one company...Champion Labs. They'll put whatever name the retailer wants and paint them to suit...but they make good filters.
With possible a few exceptions...such as counterfeit name brand...if the filter meets manufacturer specs and you don't exceed factory recommendations of mileage, time and oil specs...you're good to go.

I am confident that XXXX oil is the best possible brand, and YYYY is the best possible oil filter. I've been using these items for 50 years and never had a problem. My engines last until I trade in the car.
If we polled 100 people, there could be 100 different Xs and Ys. Also, most of the people that replied would say that they change their stuff frequently, by the book.
My question is: "Has anyone ever had an engine failure that could be positively traced to a bad product?"

I've been on a number of car forums...and if you want to start a never ending flame war that costs thousands of lives...just post your opinion that others will take offense to...such as:
The best oil filter.
The best air filter.
The best motor oil.
The best wax.
The best brand tire.
The best protectant.
The best gasoline.
It doesn't matter whether Chevy vs. Ford vs. Mopar vs import...any and all of those things will start a flame war. People take great offense to their favorite product being insulted in their minds...

That said, a number of people have cut open filters to discuss their various advantages and flaws. YouTube is your friend in this.

The chance of bad filters causing engine failure is slim, unless the filter burst, and the engine seized from lack of oil. What is more likely however is excessive wear on the various parts resulting in higher oil consumption including the notorious blue exhaust cloud.
A lot of opinions ( reputations ) are based on what people read on the Internet , and not on real world experience . I wish I had a dollar for every Fram filter I have used for the last 50 years . ZERO oil/filter related issues on anything I've owned . That's what I base my opinion on .
Sure, sure, but what caliber oil filter is best?
