Just curious if there is a database out there, or if somebody knows of the following? I saw a model 66-1 snub yesterday that was stamped "LAPP". Left side of frame between the cylinder window and trigger/guard. Letters were centered, in alignment, and uniformly sized and spaced.

I don't believe so. But I wish there was one. The SC lists a number of marked guns but really just the tip of the ice berg.

I collect marked revolvers. I briefly entertained the idea of starting a data base and even collecting a picture of markings to accompany where possible.

Just a guess but over half the marked guns I've collected were presumably marked by the dept armorer and not the factory.
And many depts use distributors limiting the effectiveness of a factory letter.

All Just adds to the challenge of such a list.

I did a google search and found this 2017 S&W forum comment from forum member, automan71. "My dad has a 66-3 2.5" stamped "LAPP" (Louisiana Probation & Parole)." I also found photos of a gun sold on Guns international said to be "LA Port Police".

Most references to the port police are LAPPD on their website. My bet is Louisiana P&P. when I went through the LASO academy there were Port Police there and I am pretty sure they had model 67s, as Rock stated.
