My name is Bill and I am glad to be here - I was born in Springfield Massachusetts and in the 1970's while in college I worked as a Security Guard at the S&W Repair Shop on Page Blvd. in Springfield. My Dad was a Project Manager at S&W in the early 1980's. I have many S&W's from a Victory to an Airweight 5 shot.

I learned to shoot from my Dad at age 7 in 1965 with a K22 Combat Masterpiece (I still have it!!).

Never owned a Colt but qualified with the .45 at Marine Corps Edson Range in 1979.

Welcome to the forum from CT ! I used to drive up to S&W as a young cop to have revolvers worked on late 70s early 80s. The service center was across from or near to the factory in a small industrial park as I recall… same day no charge service. The guys at counter used to offer stocks off the display rack - but I was too cool for those old wood grips ! I had Pachmayr !!
Great forum here. Lots of knowledge here. Sounds like you have a great collection with the family history to go with it !

Welcome! I hope you get as much enjoyment out of this forum as I do!

As an aside, where is Page Avenue in relation to 2100 Roosevelt Ave.?

For some reason, I thought I had read of people taking guns for service to the guard house at 2100 Roosevelt and dropping them off for service. Is this not correct, or did it change somewhere over the years?
