Welcome! I hope you get as much enjoyment out of this forum as I do!

As an aside, where is Page Avenue in relation to 2100 Roosevelt Ave.?

For some reason, I thought I had read of people taking guns for service to the guard house at 2100 Roosevelt and dropping them off for service. Is this not correct, or did it change somewhere over the years?

Roosevelt Av. was the main plant - Page Bl. was once a Westinghouse Plant. S&W rented a building where they did a lot of repair work in the late 1970's.

Thank you.

They certainly had lots of repairs in the 1970s. Every other revolver seemed to not carry up. Between that and the trigger stop problems, and the Model 66 gas ring fiasco, they certainly must have needed a large repair facility.

I think at the time S&W was just started making Shotguns - My Dad and Uncle bought 2 12 ga. pump action models - the cut down the barrels and installed rifle sights and slings and used them Deer Hunting. I think they had stainless steel barrels and it was a challenge installing the sights.
