A gazillion cops are handed Glocks and head to the range. No one cares if it "fits their hand" or "the trigger feels funny". That's your gun. Qualify or go home.
I qualified busloads of people on Glock .40s and 9s. They always worked, and if somebody was gonna qualify, a Glock would get it done.
Its like the old saw about Smokey the Bear hats not fitting anyone. Eventually your head grows to fit the hat.
I've owned a few Glocks over the years. If I just wanted "a gun" a Glock would do as well as anything, better than most I suppose. I never kept one though. Something else that I "liked" better would come along and the Glock would get sold/traded.
Of course I did that with other guns too.
Yesterday I personally saw a 1st Gen unfired Model 17 bring $1500.The owner bought it new in the mid 80s and had brought it in to sell. I happened to be in the shop when he came in.(picking up a new redhawk) The shop owner offered him $1k but one of his helpers paid what the guy wanted. I like Glocks just fine but not enough to pay such a premium for a "collectible".

>>>>>>SCIENTISTS WILL BACK THIS STATEMENT<<<<<<<
"ALL PLASTICS DEGRADE OVER TIME" !
My personal dislike is - the fact that plastic items must be made thicker for strength. I also disapprove of a large number of small parts, & springs. Also I won't have a "nanny" trigger.
All Logical reasons for NO LOVE, or even personal tolerance.

I find two things with my Glock 42 in .380ACP. First is the grip angle, which is different than my 3rd Gen S&W autos that I am used to, and with which I have practiced so much. It is not a problem because I sight the pistol with my eyes on the front sight. I can just feel the stretch in my wrist, which is very similar to the stretch I feel with my S&W revolvers, like my Model 696.(snip)
Speaking of the grip, in the book Glock: The Rise of America's Gun, during the design phase, Gaston had two pieces of wood nailed together to mimic a pistol and had people experiment with aiming, both open-eyed and with them closed. To quote, "The consensus was that an ideal handgun should point instinctively so that an injured user could fire even if he couldn't see the gun's sights. The experts settled on an angle of 22 degrees, which Glock later reduced slightly"...
