Two new Smiths

I was able to run across two nice Smiths today. The first is a 28-2 with a 4” pinned barrel. The second one is 34-1. I got them both for $1600. Serial number on the 28 is S301227. The number on the 34 is M1006184. I’m am now fortunate to own two 28’s, the other one being a 6” -2. The stocks on my newest one are absolutely beautiful. I’m now up to 16 Smith revolvers with 8 being prelocks. The 34 is my first 22.

I agree those are some gorgeous stocks on the Mod. 28...Probably not original to the gun, but very nice indeed......Ben

Nice, the M34 maybe your favorite to take to the range. Try the CCI Quiets, they are just fun to shoot, Its like using a suppressor, I like to shoot steel targets at 15-20 yds. You can hear the steel targets better, I can't hear very well anyway at 68, I don't have 16 Smiths, only 4, like to have 100 if I had the $, have fun..

From what I can see the model 28 is from 1968 and a model 34. You have an extra digit in the serial number not knowing which one it is, but the best guess would be early 1979.

My mistake. I was looking at the receipt and the 4 is the barrel. M100618 is the SN. Thanks for the info.
