First, let me apologize for my poor attendance lately and not giving any explanation. It was inconsiderate of me and Ill try to do better in the future. My hands are not getting any better and that is part of it. Also this computer is on its last leg. But I guess the main reason is that I have been working on a writing project which is important to me. I need to get going on it while I'm still able. I am almost through with the outline and research and it is just about time to get it stated. I will no doubt have to get a new computer and a lazer jet printer. I will try to check in more often. I am doing alright. Still a kicking. Yall play nice.....:p

Jack, thanks for the phone chat an hour ago. It did me a world of good. I love talking to folks with a perpetual cheery disposition such as yourself.

You have a most calming and soothing speaking voice and you are a marvelous story teller.

I look forward to our next chin wag.

I feel your pain, in some part literally. A couple years ago my hands were really hurting, which is tough for me because I am the recording secretary of the town planning commission and take notes with pen and paper. Happily with some application of OTC medicine my hands got better.

I had a dying computer. I hated to spend the money to replace it but I didn't have much of a choice. What I did do was get a replacement computer with twice the horsepower (16 gigabytes RAM 1Terrabyte storage) with a list price of only about $350.00 more than what I paid 7 years ago for the old computer. What a difference that makes in processing. With the size of your prospect get a replacement computer with the most horsepower you can afford. You won't regret it.

A little bit about Jack; two of his lifelong passions are fishing and shooting. He was heartbroken when, due to advanced neuropathy, he sold all his fishing gear and all his guns except two .22s which are sentimental.

He told me that he is blessed to wake up each morning with his beloved Miss Pam, listen to music videos, watch his favorite shows and tool around the family compound in his golf cart visiting with relatives. I wanna be like him when I grow up.

In a world full of Eeyores be a Jack.

Well, Rusty pretty much covered it. I also hung on to my 12 gauge shotgun. But if I'm shooting that something really bad is about to get me. The sad situation with my hand is best described by two words... PERFECT STORM. Arthritis, carpel tunnel, ulna nerve damage and trigger finger. I don't know how a hand surgeon would manage all that but I do know it would involve surgery*s* requiring lengthy recovery and rehab time. I cant be on the bench for more than a couple of days as I am my brides sole care giver...ie...chief cook and bottle washer. l can deal with it all ok for now and I will until I cant. Ill cross that bridge when I come to it. I have long enjoyed Youtube. I have FINALLY got it going on the big screen and it provides countless hours of entertainment. Fishing videos, law enforcement and mainly, music videos. I am amazed at how I am able to adapt to all the things life has been throwing in front o me. Rusty is my role model. His attitude and personality inspire me. We share a common love for music too. I am ashamed to admit what I would do to be able to sit around a nice fire with a cooler full of beer solving all the worlds problems with my good friend, Rusty.

After I got tired of listening to the missus complaining about how her laptop wouldn't charge, I did a quick analysis of how she really uses a computer and determined that something like this would cover all her needs and avoid all the problems she encountered with the laptop.
This just might be your solution too
Just a moment...

The main source of the issues is that several keys no longer work, aside from the fore mentioned key. Including enter and back space. This was all a result of spilling something on the keyboard * I forget just what* Also consider the fact that this hunka-junk is at least 8 years old. It doesn't need repairing. It needs replacing. I don't look forward to getting used to a new one but I am SOOO tired of having to use spell checker and other tricks. Sigh....

If you have a thrift store or Goodwill nearby you can probably find a replacement keyboard for next to nothing. I see them all the time for less than $5.00.

I've bought several at Goodwill. I happen to like the Dell style and they show up frequently. I buy one, use it until the keys get too smooth to see, then buy another one.

Depending on the exact variant, they can go for $4.50 to $7.00.

I've also found a couple of almost brand new Bluetooth keyboards that work well with my tablet. I'm typing on one now.

I would not buy a computer from there, though.
