28-2 sells for $3300?

I saw that one, and I thought about bidding on it.
Never saw it going to that though.
It is absolutely pristine and also an S prefix, which I have not seen a lot of on gun broker.
Another reason it might go for so much is that somebody had a big collection of 28–2 and that is one that they did not have and they were willing to pay anything for it… But another guy would have to be in that same position to be bidding against that guy.
I have not seen any many 28–2 but that condition is mint.

Its in very good condition but not unfired from the looks of it. I question the semi-target hammer and trigger and would need to see a letter on it. The label on the box doesn't show anything special. Personally I think the buyer overpaid by about 2 grand. Nice gun though.

I'd give that much for a -1 in similar condition.

Well, it took two bidders to get there....
Seller is very impressed with the S serial number, but they made those for at least 14 years, so it must be this:
The time capsule features a 4" pinned barrel, 1/8" Baughman quick front sight with adjustable rear leaf sight, satin blue finish, six shot recessed and counterbored cylinder chambered for .357 magnum/.38 spc.
:D:D;);)

Mon Dieu! Batyushki! Himmel! The winner must have wanted that specimen badly or he was a "hired" bidder (I hate to say stooge.)!

That is not new in box. The breach face shows quit a bit of impact wear, the extractor shows wear, there’s a turn line on the cylinder and the cylinder face shows firing on every chamber. It may be in nice shape but it’s definitely not unfired. $2K too much is correct.

If it wasn't for the "pristine condition" part I was going to speculate that it was my old duty gun and the LE use and connection to a hysterical character drove the price up.

Good eye! You are correct, there is a fairly distinct imprint of case heads on the recoil shield and burn rings around every chamber. It either had a lot of problems at the factory and required extensive test firing, and I find that highly unlikely, or it's been fired a fair amount by a previous owner, which I find the most likely to have happened. $3300? That's a very firm "no way in (word not allowed, but begins with "h" and rhymes with "tell").
