I've eaten teriyaki monkey on a stick, dog and mountain lion. Once at a wild game feed put on by the local Big Game Society I ate everything from Armadillo to Zebra. I've eaten the eye out of smoked trout and found it crunchy, sucked the head of a crayfish, just about everything that walks, flies, crawls, or swims. But I believe I would draw the line at Balut...I know a few Filipinos that claim its a delicacy but I think I'm gonna pass. Worst thing I ate on a bet was a canned cutworm that my grandmother brought home from some kind of party at the rich folk's place she worked at. It was the tiniest can I ever seen, had a picture of a big ole cutworm on the label. My uncle and I were well into a case of beer and he dared me...Wellsir...We cracked that tiny can open and there was the big ole greenish cutworm in some kind of liquid all curled up. I swallered hard and tossed him in my mouth and bit down, the resulting squish and bitter flavor was just about enough to gag me but I chewed a few times and got him down...my uncle gagged and nearly threw up just watching. Won the $5...

Mary Kitchen. Roast Beef Hash and Corned Beef Hash. Love both, have several cans in the pantry. Had a can for dinner a couple weeks ago. Good stuff.

I've never really thought about it but on 1 November 2026, I will have been retired from the state system 25 years. I had in 25 years and 2 weeks service.

Retired July, 2000 after 21 years, 4 months service. The math sux for the PERA, but they remain solvent because of good management.

Started SocSec in 2021 at FRA but kept working and paying in until last December. Hope to turn a profit on my contributions since '72; I need to live 3 years, 9 months more to do so.
