Met a couple SWCA members today at the Tulsa Wananmacher show. Nice folks. Lots of nice S&W revolvers but no screaming deals that I saw. I did sell a 617-3 and promptly turned around and bought a 15-3. More on that one tomorrow. What made the drive worth it was I found one ide been looking for. A 4" model 27, in nickel to boot! Very nice condition. The only issue is that someone swapped the red insert for black. Never seen a black insert. Need to find a red one for sure. Also a smooth target trigger was swapped in. It feels very nice but I'm partial to the standard ribbed target. Luckily I picked one up at the show as well. NOS .5" target trigger for a very reasonable price.

I had a great time myself. Met a fellow collector member. Had a great time. Picked up a lady smith 65 and a Dan combs 686 in box. Found a 681 with department stamping of some sort. Great day. I'm beat. Better pictures tomorrow.

you never said how much you got hosed on the nickle Model 27. You can tell us...we wont say anything...LOL

As I said in my initial post, there were no great deals, everyone knew what they had or it was too early on day 1 to be dropping prices. The show was packed and money was changing hands. The 27 came with presentation box, complete and unused tool kit and full set of docs. These accessories are not must haves for me and generally I prefer they not be included so the ask is lower but in this case they were included and the price reflected a pretty nice complete package. It was still less than what I've seen blued 4" go for online auctions especially when you factor in mine was a face to face with no tax, transfers, or any other paperwork. It was the only 4" 27 I saw at a 4200 table show.

I got a decent deal on the ones I picked up. Not a great deal. The Dan combs was most expensive at 1200. Seen some really nice engraved stuff that was way over my budget. Seen some volcanics. Handled a couple model 1s. I did see one new 629 mountain gun that was priced normally at 1149 I believe. Handled it. Felt nice for sure. I had a great time.

Unless it's a private thing betwen you two (in which case, I don't want to know), I'm puzzled as to why, not knowing how much he paid for that revolver, you think he got "hosed."

Is it because you were there too and you saw the asking price?

Thank you!

If anyone got a deal...they'd be singing like a canary....So why not share it?... Im sure YOU would

I was there yesterday. Looked for a Webley in 38-200. Did not see one in my price range. Still had an OK time. Lots of people there. Wow!

Yea no screamin deals with all the people. If you didn't get it then someone else would have. If you bought anything you couldn't carry it around much and everyone wanted to buy it. Probably better deals today but I'm home now and spent all my money yesterday. Lol.

Here's the Model 15-3 I mentioned in the original post. Seller was outside smoking and his buddy manning the table started at $900. Yeah, not a chance. I was ready to walk but he told me to make an offer. I said $600. He countered $700 cash and we got it done. Now it didn't look like this when I bought it, that's why I didn't post pics of it yesterday with the 27 I grabbed. This 15 was in pieces getting a very thorough cleaning. It was nasty! But I could tell the nickel was in good condition and I knew with a little elbow grease it would clean up nice and be worth the selling price or more. A few hours this morning with Hoppes Foaming Elite and some Mothers Mag Wheel polish followed by some Ren Wax and this is the finished product. Looks great! It'll be a nice companion to my blued 15-3 snub. These nickel plated guns are growing on me.
