Before some of you fluted guys get your panties in a bunch, I like Fluted Classics also so you can post them too...... I'm just particularly fond of the Classic Hunters blue or stainless or decorated let's see what you got......

Here's what I got. My only complaint: still shoots high with the rear sight bottomed out and not drilled and tapped for an optics mount. I do like the extra weight of the barrel underlug and the unfluted cylinder when shooting full house hunting loads.

I’ve posted this before. It’s my only one. It’s wearing Grasshorn’s that I bought from a forum member. I paid for a bronze T Grip 13 months ago and still waiting.

I only have 3 now, but I have a 29-3 classic hunter lew horton, a superb 29-5 classic hunter, and a 629-2 classic hunter.

Mine is a 686-3. Two things have always confused me about these guns. First, why put black sights on a "hunting" gun when a red ramp/white outline package would be more visible in a woody setting?

Next, my gun's box label indicates it has "TS" stocks which, according to the SCoSW, is the code for Target Stocks yet it came, like the others, with a Hogue MonoGrip. And why would S&W use an aftermarket monogrip that partially covered their trademark instead of having their own made as they did for round-butt guns?

I always wondered that about why they used Hogues too.
I've seen rubber S&W Logo-ed finger groove grips that would look a lot better on the Classic Hunter, but I'm guessing they hadn't started making those yet when the Classic Hunter was first introduced.
