Haven’t seen Kenny (Rubiranch) post anything for awhile, so I checked his activity. Last active Feb 17th. Anyone have any news?

I sent him an email a few days ago. His reply was that he is having back problems, but that he is fine.

Good to hear. I was thinking about that incident as well when I started the thread.

Thank you very much and thank you Pete for reaching out to me.
Its been a long two years for me ever since I wrecked my truck and camper.
Most recently was back surgery this past October.
I started having some bad pain in my legs, bad enough I couldn't stand up straight.
Surgery fixed that but in Jan I started having some pretty sever muscle spasms, bad enough for 4 ER visits.
Physical therapy and then off to a pain management clinic.
First steroid/nerve blocker injection on the 22nd.

I haven't been able to do hardly any shooting.
Last time I was at the range was back in September.

I'll get off y butt and start posting.

I had another MRI done earlier this month and now I'm having issues with L5 and S1.
L-4 isn't doing all that great either.

I have a degenerative bone disease.
Either injections or a back stimulator for the rest of my life.
It sucks getting old. No, it sucks when you start falling apart.

The "Like" was really a BTDT. I have dealt with the aftermath of a compressive fracture to L-2 that resulted in damage to the L-2/L3 disk and spinal stenosis. This was a result of a face first fall into a house foundation excavation when I was 14 years old in 1958. It sure has made life interesting.

I worked with a guy who was injured on duty and wound up with four of those screws in his neck.

Thanks everyone. Back surgery sucks.

Actually the last two years have ben pretty rough. Prior to that I was quite active here and bought and sold quite a few really nice S&W revolvers.

I thinned out my collection and kept the ones I really liked and some that have a lot of sentimental value to me.

Kenny, I too, am glad you are back with us and I will certainly pray for Divine comfort for you. You have had to carry some seriously heavy burdens and you have borne them well and with a constant smile and good cheer.

That looks absolutely miserable. I had two lumbar laminectomies for ruptured discs done 15-20 years ago and had great luck with them. Orthopedic Dr's wanted to do fusions, went to a neurosurgeon and he recommended the laminectomies, went with him and best decision I ever made. The Dr is my lifelong hero. Back isn't perfect but 1000% better then it was before surgery.

A back neurosurgeon did my fusion.
They surgery was done because one of the discs wasn't inline with the others causing the nerve to rub against bare bone. My sciatic nerves in both legs were killing me.

I have different problems now and was warned in the beginning that I would and surgery this time is not the answer.

It makes me feel good that soo many people have had successful back surgeries. I just wish they were all a one time deal and a permanent fix.

I have three with arthritis too.

When my first disc ruptured a piece dropped out into the nerve channel and a jagged edge was sawing on a nerve every time I moved. ER Doc said he had never seen anyone lay on a stretcher for 8 hours and not move a muscle.
